[~☪~] “That’s a good boy, Koromaru.” Shinjiro had a little smile on his face, as he was playing with his dog, a very fluffy albino shiba, curled tail swishing in excitement while its red eyes were staring at Shinji in interest.

He reached out, and carefully pried the ball away from the other’s teeth, as he barked happily in pride.

“Yeah, you caught the ball, you did good. You ready to go get it again?” He smiled, which got him a happy bark, and the other hopping up and down.

In the midst of their excitement of being able to play together, the fluffy beast seemed to stop in everything, beginning to carefully sniff the air.

The smell of something delicious and meaty caught the pup’s attention, as he seemed to turn in the direction of the park’s gated entrance, and barked, and scurried off in the direction of the scent.

“H-Hey, Koro! Get back here... dammit...!” He adjusted his hat, and hurried after the very fast little fluff ball.

“Hey! Quit squirming dumbass it’s like you are looking for a beat down.”  Aritomo patted Shuichi on the back, having rushed him and tossed him over his shoulder. For being a little under average height, Aritomo was strong. 

Pushing through the front door, he tossed Shuichi down gently.  “What’s your deal? You’re the ultimate officer aren't you? You can’t even fight!”

Hanging out with her friends was always fun and calming for Kaede, depending on the type of people she was around. But just being with one person was fun too! Especially when it’s one of her closest friends. ...Or, maybe a bit more. But she wasn’t too sure; her mind was constantly conflicted on it. She never really had crushes before, so perhaps she was just in denial? ...No, wait, the conflicts are coming back again...

It didn’t help that everyone else already knew it was a crush far quicker than she did and was talking about it. Hopefully, none of her friends had heard about it and would ask her-

...Today just wasn’t her day, was it?

。♪♫ “ W-Well... maybe I do, or maybe I don’t... “ 。♪♫ The one time that she wished her emotions wouldn’t show up on her face happened to be during a situation that totally took her by surprise. But she really should’ve expected it. 。♪♫ “ ...Well, since you asked it, I’ll ask you a question too. Why are you asking? “ 。♪♫

Avoiding questions was probably something she had, surprisingly, a lot of experience with.

–   “ …Wh-What? ”

The male stuttered as his head quickly looked to see the stranger, seemingly as if he just snapped back to reality.

When it comes to stress, Shuichi is no stranger to it. Everyone deals with stress and it’s just something everyone has to deal with at least once in their life. However, the level of stress he’s been dealing with for the past few days drained him a lot. He looked paler than usual, and it was hard to concentrate on the lack of sleep. He didn’t think for a second that anyone would even comfort him.

Then it happened! Someone unfamiliar seemed to have taken her time to ask him if he wanted a hug or not. He’s hearing this correctly, right? Honestly, he felt like he needed one, but he wasn’t sure if he was able to say yes. It didn’t feel right for him to answer that, and perhaps she might just say it out of pity.

Would it be selfish to even hope that she would mean it? –

๑ - “Ah...um..” she pulled back the hand she’d used to tap him on the shoulder with, anxiety overcoming her briefly as their eyes met. Her gaze immediately shifted to the more polite level of his neckline; her hands clenched into fists briefly to cease her trembling. 

“I just...wanted to know if needed a hug” she forced herself to repeat it, telling herself this was about his comfort rather than her own. She has to gather her courage, continue to be strong for others like she always has.She recongnized the bags under his eyes, the slouch in his posture and the paleness of his skin. Her Shuichi had started to look so similar after his mother had died...

“You look like you’re having a hard time is all. If you don’t want one, that’s alright...”

☘ - “You look like the type of person who’s lost.” she made some effort to sound either concerned or welcoming, but she didn’t have much energy to put into it. Who fuckin’ cared? It’s not like anyone was grading her performance right now. She still wasn’t entirely sure what they had planned for her...but she still wasn’t convinced there were that many uses for a twelve year old girl, espically when she wasn’t in the most flattering of outfits at the moment.  Fucking creeps. 

She tugged at the side of her collar idly, the chain clattering lightly. Could a good tug have dislodged it from the brick wall? Hm- no. There was no way it could be that simple.

“If you need directions, I’d ask inside the bar. They’re still moving stuff around n’ shit for the renovation- but they’ll be happy to help you out.”

3. What was the worst thing in your character’s life?

That case is a notable one, but one event I think also tore him up real bad is when he had to say goodbye to his parents at the airport when he was a kid. With their careers as screenwriter and actor picking up, they were now going to have to start traveling overseas, which meant Shuichi seeing them a lot, lot less. He wanted so badly to go with them, but they refused, as they’d find themselves too busy to try taking care of him and essentially… just saying he’d be kind of in the way, now. It made him real miserable and he was going to miss his parents so much.

13. What does your character pretend or try to care about?

Shuichi being a very emphatic person, I think he tries to care about even people who’ve done terrible things, but did said terrible things because their overwhelming emotions got to the best of them, out of self defense, if they felt remorse and guilt for it because they normally would never do such a thing, etc. Because Shuichi is the kind who still tries to see the good in people, even in people who’ve done bad things. But he knows in the end, while it’s understandable, it’s not justifiable.

15. What is your character afraid of?

I think one thing Shuichi’s afraid of is sometimes feeling like he’s “too boring” or something. Compared to….a lot of his friends, he’s pretty normal, quiet, introverted… sometimes he worries he’s not really that interesting of a person to be around because of that. It’s mostly just his silly butt overthinking to much, save him.

✎- A light tap was given on the detective's shoulder, Asano not wanting to startle him with how deep in thought he seemed to have gone into. She couldn’t say she really blamed him- the body that had been splattered across the pavement here was a nauseating sight. It was hard to try to keep her focus on him, almost...but she had to be respectful of the recently deceased. 

“Excuse me, sir - are you Mr. Saihara ? My name is Asano- I’ve come from the Blue Sky Society as a volunteer to help the families affected by these recent tragedies...would you mind if I had a word with you?”
