i almost never check my home page. but whenever i do, i regret it deeply.
reader feedback is always nice. it’s important, and it’s appreciated. i can only speak for myself and this blog when i say: i’m never gonna demand a certain kind of feedback. those “if you’re gonna comment, only say what you liked, don’t ask for a part two, say this instead of that” posts are so grating to me. in my most humble opinion. i’m not pointing fingers.
what really gets to me is seeing writers be rude when a reader asks about an update. and then they wonder why engagement has decreased. well, yeah? if the vibe is hostile in a community, readers are going to assume all writers are like that and stop interacting altogether.
just my opinion. again, not calling anyone out. not trying to start shit. just tired.
shout-out to this AO3 comment for making me emotional
I love the Rhink fandom
I have posted stories to other fandoms with luke warm responses. But the rhink fandom is always so warm and sweet! I always receive lots of compliments and feedback and I just want to say THANK YOU !
I got this a few days ago and I'm only just reading what it says now and I'm just...so utterly touched by this comment I got! I'm going through a stressful and painful writing time right now since I'm currently doing my final script project for uni and I felt a bit down on whether I'm able to be a writer or not. But getting this, along with the other comments on here recently have really boosted me up. I will keep writing to get better, I want to improve and make this hobby into a career! I hope I can one day. Thank You! Whoever you are, thank You!
This morning I woke up to a kudos email from Ao3. Apparently someone devoured The Misadventures of Growley and Squirrel in its entirety all at once, leaving me a happy little kudos on each one.
Whoever you are, you just made my day.
me, with 50 notes on my new fic: I am an amazing writer.
me, with 5 notes on my new fic: Can I even word?
i don't know how you manage to do it. you write the most diverse, varied, intricate smut--smut's not even the right word, it's too sordid for what you post. it's like, poetry, a lot of the time. (i might not be saying this right.) okay, let me try again. you write the most incredible love-making scenes, where every touch and sigh and shutter is intricately woven into a declaration of love in physical form. and every single time you post a story, it's so wildly different and new. how do you do it? it's amazing. it's awe-inspiring. you are amazing, and awe-inspiring, and i love you
It's ok to call it sordid (i honestly like that word) ...I'm really touched by these comments.
I try to make each piece unique... try to give it its own little soul, so I am glad that comes through.
I want readers to feel things, want them to have a journey.. and it seems I've managed to take you on some Anon. Im so pleased. Thank you, it makes it all feel so worth it.
