I had been saying a lot was riding on 7.1's MSQ for me as far as my faith in their writing goes, and I'm pleased pretty much everything that got on my tits in 7.0 (ESPECIALLY upon a second playthrough) have all been more or less fixed.

There's nothing but the vaguest hints at spoilers under the cut, but might as well do one anyway ...

There's less telling instead of showing in 7.1, and most of the telling it makes sense for it to be that way. They even remembered the Echo is a handy storytelling device sometimes!

They remembered it's fun to have dialogue choices that reflect a personality besides 'bland.' Dusk was allowed more opportunities to seem like himself, rather than a generic stand-in, in the first few cutscenes than he did for most of Dawntrail's MSQ, and it made me happy. It's such a small seeming thing, but it makes a big difference for me!

Wuk Lamat is back to levels where I don't feel like she's my uncomfortably clingy friend who won't give me space, and I'm so glad, because I do like her when she's not attached at the hip and bulldozing over all the other characters. She's still there, still important, still leading when it's a time she should be, but she's not overbearing at all. It feels more like an ensemble cast to me again, with some characters getting more spotlight than others as usual, and I think that serves her better in addition to everyone else.

I wasn't worried about the actual plot of 7.1 touching on things I wanted touched on, just a little worried about the how, but I was still happy about them touching on the things they did. I'm already looking forward to how things develop in 7.2.

Went to work early morning today, I was excited and nervous both for my first step to OCE after taking break for almost 4-5 months. The class went great though. I have more knowledge about what I need to prepare and what to leave.

Starting the weekend because my days off are sunday and monday.

Today I thought about what I would be gifting my husband on his birthday this month. Any ideas? Please let me know .
