SCENE 3.
EXT. THE SILVER LINE APTS ENTRANCE, NIGHT.

THE VOICE makes kiyeon snap to attention, yanking his hands away from his own keycard that he's been scratching at for the last five minutes. he raises his eyes to an unfamiliar torso and a voice that he doesn't think he's heard around the building yet, and he remembers the last imperative he'd seen on his phone: report any unauthorized citizens to security.
but security is inside and the door had flashed angry red signals at him when he tried to scan in. so.
he folds his hands over his own card, glancing at the entrance and then back at the stranger in front of his bench.
"i think the outage messed it up or someone's locking us out on purpose, if you're in on that conspiracy." he hesitates. he tentatively lifts his gaze just that bit more, enough to catch the ends of their hair. definitely unfamiliar. he can't just tell them that he was going to try to sneak in through the garden, he can't handle that kind of liability. "you live here too? i don't think i recognize you."
