I relate so much to all of this. It's only the last couple years I've forced myself to put myself out there more to mixed results, but honestly I'm still so bad at it even with friends. (Or trying to make friends).

Completely get that. I have less of an issue with tapping people on the shoulder when my aim is friendship. It still takes a little bit for enough of a comfort level, but that happens fairly quickly.

It’s the whole romantic part that my gut just tells me, by whispering into my ear, “STOP THIS INSTANT AND DON’T EVER DO THAT’.

You could always self publish! I know a few people who have been pretty successful with that, able to support themselves and stuff.

I have looked into self-publishing before...there are sooooo many ways you can get screwed over with it. I found a decent one that I could publish my edited TPS manuscript mind you.
