Ephraim: Me? I don’t think I’m suited to be a teacher. You know I love to fight, so I probably wouldn’t be the best at holding back.

Summoner: That’s actually why I’m asking you. I want someone who won’t hold back in teaching me to fight. Alfonse and Sharena always start panicking if I so much as fall on the ground. And Fjorm always hesitates to even strike me with a wooden lance. You’re the best fit for what I want.

Ephraim: I can try to teach you what I know. Just make sure the others won’t have my head if you get bruised, alright?

Summoner: It’s like…a…really fast wagon except you can control it. And it’s made of metal.

Ephraim: What do you do for fun? Do you spar?

Summoner: Not really. People have different hobbies like drawings, reading or playing games. Like I said, being trained to fight isn’t really as common in my world.

Ephraim: No sparring? No battles… I guess I’m glad I have my world. I can’t imagine never wielding a lance.

Ephraim: At first I admired you for your leadership abilities, your kindness and your compassion. However as I got to know you on a deeper level, I realized there was more to you I didn’t know. And I wanted to discover more. Taking up training with you was one way for me to get closer.

Summoner: So you…like me?

Ephraim: Immensely. I would have told you outright, but I was advised that my direct approach may scare you. So I was looking for a more discrete approach.

Summoner: Oh…

Ephraim: I’m still willing to teach you. However I would like to spend time outside of training with you.

Summoner: I’d like that. I’d like that a lot.

Ephraim: Perhaps you’ll be willing to come visit my home after all this is over. I have much I want to show you and much I want to do with you.
