Fei Yu for @ommsims’ Niko Suarez

Fei was born in Oasis Springs, but after university, she moved to San Myshuno when she was offered a teaching position in a prestigious private school. She’s the daughter of a single mother who raised her with the help of her grandmother, as she worked constantly to provide for them. Now her family is going through a difficult time: her grandmother is showing signs of dementia, and her mother needs help. Being fed up with the environment of private school, she felt like this was a sign that it was time to come home. So she moved back to OS and is ready for the next step in her life. She’s yet to start teaching at her new school, but is very excited to work in the same place she grew up in.

More about Fei:

She’s an animal lover and has a Beagle named Dakota who is very protective over her. If she feels her human is threatened, she will bite (but I’m sure she can be won over). Getting along with Dakota is a must for any future partners.

She is obsessed with purple and 90% of the time will wear clothes of that colour, paired with her favorite lavender boots.

Loves to read literature, even though she’s actually a history teacher. 

Other teachers come to her for advice [that’s literally her job description].

She’s a cheerful kind of person and lives life with a smile.

She never met her father, but she grew up among awesome women who taught her to be independent and strong. Though she knows she don’t need no man, she wants real love. However, if the first date doesn’t go well and she doesn’t see a second date in the horizon, she’s down for a hook-up. In fact, she’s very open about sex and even a little adventurous.

Well, Mia, I hope you like her. I don’t know what you have in mind for this “dating adventure”, but I think she’ll be a good fit for Niko story wise. Even if they don’t end up together, I hope they at least stay as friends (they might end up teaching together after all).

Rough sketches of my fourth year team, team PYRE

Their motif is heroic archetypes and they’re more or less disbanded at the moment with one of the members being deceased and one of them being MIA. They attended Shade academy and Pyre and Leilah still attend the school.

Pyre Abel

Naming: Pyre = a structure usually made of wood, used for burning a body as part of a funeral rite or execution. Abell = variant spelling of “Abel,” a Hebrew name meaning breath

Age: 20

Species: Human

Battle Class: Knight

Weapon: Bertilak - Flame Emitting Dust Broadsword (FEDB)

Semblance: Inferno - He can generate fire and freely manipulate it as well. His body will start to burn if he creates too much fire or makes it burn hot enough with the limit being dependent on how sunny it is. The limit increases when it’s a sunny day and decreases during cloudy weather and night. The burn scars on his body are from when he was first learning how to use his Semblance and the incident which led to the death of Yu. 

Description: Pyre is a natural born leader, acting confident and fearless. He’s friendly and outgoing and while he can be hot blooded, he’s a lot smarter than he acts. A lot of this is a facade though and since the death of Yu and Elaine’s disappearance, he’s begun to hide his insecurities even more and has started to become reckless in regards to anything related to that incident.

Allusion: Sir Gawain. Archetype - Ideal Hero/Classical Anti Hero

Fei Yu (Eastern Order)

Naming: Yu (玉) = Chinese word for Jade. Fei (费) = Chinese word for Fee

Age: 19 at death

Species: Human

Battle Class: Rogue

Weapon: Four Stars - Quadruple Dust Short Swords (QDSS) He also kept a pair of pistols on him, but preferred not to use them.

Semblance: Sleight - He could teleport objects between his hands and when he made contact with something, he could place a small glyph on it which allowed him to teleport it into his hands as long as he was able to see it. He could also swap things with glyphs on them with anything he was holding

Description: Yu was relaxed and carefree and was the kind of person that could be friends with anyone. He was clever, but lacked foresight and often didn’t think far enough ahead in battle. Even if he was never serious in school, he took fights seriously and was a lot more reliable than he seemed. He was killed in a joint mission along with most of the members of the other team.

Allusion: Song Jiang. Archetype - Anti Hero

Partner: Leilah Rayhana

Leilah Rayhana

Naming: Leilah = Derived from Leila, which is Arabic for Night. Rayhana = Arabic name meaning “basil”

Age: 20

Species: Human

Battle Class: Dancer

Weapon: Thousand Nights (Shahra, Dunya, Ali, and Cassim) - Bracelet and Anklet mounted Pistol and Chains (BAPC). She also takes up Yu’s swords following his death.

Semblance: Enchantment - She can use dust to give various buffs to her team and her teammate’s weapons. This can either work as just giving them elemental effects or entirely different effects. Gravity can be used to either allow them to stand on the sides of walls or allow Leilah to control the trajectory of projectiles or her chains. Lightning can grant a haste effect. Wind makes the target lighter and Ice can either or make the target slower. She can technically use them on her opponents, but it’s considerably harder for her to do.

Description: Leilah is quiet, cynical, and blunt. She has no problems being brutally honest towards others and is very sharp minded, being the most skilled strategist out of PYRE. While she’s very harsh and cynical, she does care about others and won’t hesitate to go out of her way to help others. She really only shows affection to those she’s close too (Read: PYRE), but following Yu’s death and Elaine’s disappearance, she’s become more closed off, even to Pyre.

Allusion: Morgiana. Archetype - Guile Hero

Partner: Lei Yu

Elaine Erion

Naming: Elaine, old french version of Helen which means “shining light.” Erion = Albanian name, meaning wind from the Ionian sea.

Age: 20 (MIA)

Species: Human

Battle Class: Valkyrie

Weapon: Róta and Mist - Dust Shot Spear and Shield (DSSS) Her boots also can shoot dust, but she mainly uses them for mobility rather than combat.

Semblance: Weightless - She is able to manipulate her weight and can reduce it to almost nothing, which she combines with her boots, which can shoot dust, for mobility. Her strength and the defensive abilities of her Aura decrease as her weight decreases and vice versa and she’ll feel more pain as she makes herself lighter. 

Description: Elaine is polite and lady like. She’s generally the most mature out of team PYRE and acts like a mother to everyone except Pyre. That said, she was also fully capable of scaring Yu and Leilah into submission with Pyre the only one not being phased by her. Despite how she normally acts, she loves fighting. She disappeared after the join mission in which Yu was killed.

Other Notes:

Pyre and Leilah’s designs are from after Yu died and Elaine went missing while there’s are from before that incident.

Pyre took the cloth that Yu wore on his arm and wrapped it around his forearm, while Leilah uses Yu’s swords after his death.
