MY 15 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 459:
So much OkiKagu cuteness...I wish the arc hadn’t ended so soon, even though Kagura spent most of it immobilized and helpless, and at the mercy of Okita’s sadism and everyone else’s stupidity....
Moment 1: That is like the cutest funeral photo ever.
Moment 2: He brought her a rose! Awwww!!! I don’t care if his intentions weren’t the purest, the most important thing is he brought her a rose in front of everyone!
Moment 3: Again, I don’t care about his intentions, the rose! The rose is what matters! But seriously, what a cute, totally evil face.
Moment 4: Sougo is seriously uber sadistic. The King, everyone.
Moment 5: I know Kagura-chan was totally suffering, but honestly, I just have the biggest grin throughout this entire sequence every time I see it.
Moment 6: The conveyor belt of death strikes again!
Moment 7: I think Tama-chan did more damage to Kagura-chan than Okita did. Holy crap. Kagura’s poor eyeballs.
Moment 8: Tama, Kyuu-chan, Tsukky, and Sacchan are a lethal combination at funerals.
Moment 9: These two adorable morons.
Moment 10: Zura!!! I was so happy that despite the fact the funeral procession was practically swarming with cops and the military, he still showed up to pay his respects to his “leader”. How sweet is that???
Moment 11: This moronic and suicidal opportunist.
Moment 12: Look at Zura’s tears!!! The man was BAWLING! Seriously, how freaking sweet was that???!!!
Moment 13: My heart clenched a little when they presented Kagura with the umbrella. That was so sweet.
Moment 14: Honestly, I was kinda hoping at least Gin-chan was in on the joke, which would explain why he didn’t seem as sad as I thought he would be if Kagura had really died, but based on this, I guess he took it seriously, so I felt pretty disappointed that he didn’t even shed a tear for her. Of course I loved the arc overall, but this part never really sat right with me.
Moment 15: A family that gets cremated together, stay together.
SHIPS TALLY:
Okita x Kagura: to everyone else, Sougo’s reaction was for real so they must have thought he really had feelings for Kagura, which means in everyone’s eyes, THEY ARE CANON.
Gintoki x Sacchan and Gintoki x Kagura: because Sacchan felt so freaking threatened by Kagura, like she was a serious rival for Gin-chan’s affections.
Kagura x Hijikata: I just think it’s cute when Kagura calls Hijikata “Toshi”.
Kondou x Otae (or Hijikata x Otae): I mean, she thanked both of them so take your pick...or you could count them as a threesome if you’d like.
Hijikata x Zura: that’s probably one of the most shippiest moment they’ve had in the so far...at least that’s what it felt like to me.
Disclaimer: Gintama is not only about shipping. Gintama is hilarious, clever, exciting, poignant, heart-breaking, loving, brilliant, and just so freaking amazing. A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 458
MY 15 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 458:
Moment 1: not a favorite moment per se, but I was really glad this was a comedic arc and not a serious one, cuz this was a really sobering image.
Moment 2: As if Shinpachi crying his eyes out wasn’t enough of an impetus.
Moment 3: Awww, Pachi-kun. All those tears for Kagura-chan...what a sweetie!
Moment 4: Even I was offended at Catherine’s poor sense of priorities.
Moment 5: The idea of these three ladies hanging out together always brings a smile to my face for some reason.
Moment 6: I love Kyuu-chan lowkey pointing out that Sacchan totally gyped them on the funeral offering, and Sacchan lowkey totally ignoring her in return.
Moment 7: WHY ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT RENT AND PAY WHEN KAGURA’S DYING???, was what I was mainly thinking about. Also candy drop can? That is another level of cheap.
Moment 8: I screamed happily...until I remembered Soyo totally believes Kagura is dying, and then I felt bad.
Moment 9: NON. STOP. SCREAMING. He CARES. He’s trying to put on a brave front!
Moment 10: Soyo challenging Gintoki and Okita for the sadism crown.
Moment 11: Nope, Okita wins it. He is THE PRINCE. But seriously, I was kinda happy that he was the only one who realized she was faking it AND even though he was hurting her, I was happy about the physical contact. I might be a bit sadistic too.
Moment 12: I wouldn’t mind losing consciousness to that face.
Moment 13: ok, up until this point, I was still kinda 50/50 on whether or not everyone was in on the trick, especially since there was the inappropriate talk of rent, pay and pachinko parlor, not to mention Gin-chan didn’t seem sad enough...
Moment 14:...but then this kinda sold me cuz that sure would be a loootttt of trouble to go through just to trick Kagura into believing that the believed her.
Moment 15: Sougo is not just the Prince of Sadists, he is the fucking KING. Long live the King!
SHIPS TALLY:
Okita x Kagura: for one beautiful second, I thought he meant it, and I was so touched, so elated, and felt like all was right in the world. I wish he didn’t take that away from me so soon after.
Gintoki x Sacchan (and kinda Gintoki x Tsukuyo): I think Tsukky was a little jealous at Sacchan’s wedding suggestion.

A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 457
One of my favorite Kagura title images because she looks so absolutely beautiful, even though she’s technically on her way to Heaven.
MY 15 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 457:
Thus begins one of my all-time favorite arcs, the Feigned Illness Arc, aka, The OkiKagu Rabu Rabu Arc.
Moment 1: These two manly snowflakes...the least they could have done was hold the umbrella for her. Sheesh.
Moment 2: Poor sweet beautiful road pancake.
Moment 3: Gin-chan feeling totally guilty about Kagura ending up in the hospital (and rightfully so since he did steal her umbrella).
Moment 4: Kagura with her hair down is just so super pretty, even when she’s sick. Sure, she looks like Mutsu and Tsukky when they have their hair down, but that’s not a bad thing at all.
Moment 5: I’m just so not used to apologetic Kagura that I immediately sensed something was amiss, and not in a legit way.
Moment 6: Kagura not-so-subtlely rubbing it in.
Moment 7: I believe I said, “HOLY FUCK”, when I first saw this, because, HOLY FUCK that is a SHOCKING image.
Moment 8: I actually thought Gin-chan might have been on to her a little since he didn’t immediately die of a heart attack after seeing her puke out all her blood supply like that, but of course I was wrong since both he and Shinpachi totally fell for her ruse.
Moment 9: Now THAT’S a food baby.
Moment 10: again, at first I thought he was staying overnight because he was onto her, but then when I realized he truly believed she was that sick and he was therefore just concerned, I was so moved.
Moment 11: Awwww! My heart melted.
Moment 12: Gintoki straight-up pulverizing Sacchan’s head so that she would remain attached to the tree for Kagura’s sake. I want to say that was sweet also, but I don’t really want Sacchan dead like that.
Moment 13: And Kondou should be dead too, since that branch pretty much skewered him from mouth to ass. OUCH.
Moment 14: My question was, why is he trying to kill himself again? What happened to telling ghost stories to kids? He was making good money off of that just last chapter!
Moment 15: Despite how distressing all that looked, I actually found it more funny than anything since I thought it was all due to Kagura over-eating only. I’ve felt the same when I over-eat too.
SHIPS TALLY:
Gintoki x Kagura: since Sougo hadn’t appeared yet, I really did feel the love Gin-chan had for Kagura-chan. Some might say it’s familial love, some might say otherwise, I can see it either way.
Gintoki x Sacchan: sure, he pretty much murdered Sacchan by pancaking her head into the tree, but she probably still enjoyed it on some level cuz she’s super M for Gintoki.
Kondou x Otae: sure, she pretty much murdered Kondou by pancaking his head onto the ground, but he probably still enjoyed it on some level cuz he’s super M for Tae-chan.
