horseback riding with alfonse!
you’re a bit nervous at first since you didn’t often see horses in person before you came to askr. but alfonse’s horse takes to you quickly!
she’s normally very shy but she likes you a lot, which alfonse is really happy about! he says he’s glad she approves of you
you weren’t expecting to be on the same horse as him, though you weren’t really expecting to be riding your own horse either. regardless you’re still a little flustered as he gestures for you to come sit behind him.
he doesn’t seem too bothered about your arms around him, though at one point when you rest the side of your head against his back you can hear his heart racing.
he shows you his favorite places around the castle grounds, the gardens, the ruins of ancient structures, all manner of things!
you think the outing is over but after a moment of quiet he asks if you’d mind another stop
when you say for him to lead on, he brings you to a small spring in a forest nearby. the water is cool and clear and beautiful, the woods around teeming with life- the songs of birds, the chattering of small animals, the chirping of insects
he helps you down to the ground and you both admire the scenery for a while
after a time he takes your hand in his, giving it a gentle, affectionate squeeze. you’re aware of how fond he is of you but he gets a bit flustered expressing it sometimes.
you squeeze his hand in response, turning to smile at him.
“Perhaps it’s silly of me to say this, but... I wish this moment could never end,” he says softly, looking into the water in front of him. slowly he turns to look at you instead, and his usually serious face has a look of almost childlike joy upon it
you suggest that the two of you come here again then, and he seems very happy about that
after some time together, talking and wandering the woods, you return to the castle. everyone takes note of the spring in alfonse’s step, especially sharena, who tells you she’s glad her brother’s found someone that means so much to him.
“Keep on treating him right, okay?”
you promise her that you will- after all, he means just as much to you!
