There is nothing in machinery, there is nothing in embankments and railways and iron bridges and engineering devices to oblige them to be ugly. Ugliness is the measure of imperfection.

Feldschlossen: The worst beer I've ever tasted
Feldschlossen is hands-down the worst beer I’ve ever had. The taste is so putrid that it feels like drinking spoiled food. It’s an absolute shame that anyone would call this swill a beer. The flavor is flat and lacks any characteristic taste that a good beer should have. The texture is watery and feels like it was brewed with leftover dishwater. The aftertaste is unbearable, and it lingers long…

Feldschlösschen is the best known beer brand in Switzerland. Their beers have been brewed at the Feldschlösschen brewery in Rheinfelden, the biggest brewery in Switzerland, since its foundation in 1876
Feldschlösschen Winterbier and a historic brewery
Here comes a winter beer from the biggest Swiss brewery, Feldschlösschen. A bit surprising but it's a beer made for heavy session drinking - easy going, with not too much of anything to not stand in your way. Hops? Has it. Malts, as well. A bit of fizz and whatever other aroma things, check. Comes in small bottles but overtly intends to make you order more (well, my guess). Buuuut... I like better stronger beers and this one is like they didn't want to take any risks. Just an 8, thanks for an average winter beer sensation. I mean, I have bigger expectations in this season.
Feldschlösschen as a brewery is not that old, compared to other big name breweries around here at least. Established 1876, it grew continuously (also) by swallowing zillions of other breweries until it was its turn to be bought - by Carlsberg in 2000. What's really special about them is the historic (listed!) main brewery castle-like building in historicist style, where one third of the beer produced in Switzerland is still brewed (small country or big premises?). You can book visits to the "castle" and if you drive on the highway from Basel to Zürich you can't miss its spectacular sight anyway. +1, deserved.
