Felegoth Emyn Lasgalen: Greenleaves

Somany has finally escaped the dark and dreary landscape of Mordor, and been sent to the northern strongholds. First she met up with Celeborn and Galadriel in southern Mirkwood, where they were preparing to raze the fortress of Dol Guldur. After that she travelled further north, to the newly renamed Eryn Lasgalen, or Wood of Greenleaves.

After some travel and encounters with varied woodland creatures along the way, she reached Felegoth, the stronghold of the elves, and had an audience with Thranduil. Thus started a long series of quests that, while still taking place in a mostly dark and dreary place (it’ll take time for Mirkwood to truly become Lasgalen), at least it’s no longer frickin’ Mordor.

The world building team have surpassed themselves with Update 22.  It is absolutely stunning and a real treat to be able to explore areas I first encountered as a child.   I have been thoroughly enjoying myself in the new area of Eyrn Lasgalen and have even enjoyed getting lost in the Forest (many times!)   I’ve put together a selection of images of Thranduil’s throne area in Felegoth – it’s very…
