He should go. He hated hospitals, he just couldn’t stand the smell and that would’ve been bad enough if, on the top of that, he wasn’t in love with the woman he was currently holding in his arms. The one who he’d known since he was a kid and wasted years thinking nothing more of her other than his best friend. And then spent way too long denying how he truly felt about her. But, even if he wasn’t willing to admit that, he still loved her. But that wasn’t his main concern at the moment.
“No, it’s fine. I’ll stay. I don’t want you to be alone.” Sure, she was pregnant; the baby could come any second, of course he wouldn’t want her to be alone. But that was the only reason why; this had to be the only reson why. She was his friend -- his pregnant friend. She wasn’t his girlfriend, Amy wasn’t his daughter. He was trying extra hard to keep that in mind at the moment. “Try to get some sleep. It’ll be good for both of you. I’ll be right here if you need me, okay?”
