In which Felix Leiter takes 00QAD to the Fourth of July cookout
The suggestion comes from Alex. He’s formed a warm and unique relationship with the CIA agent who helped him lay low in America, after SPECTRE got hold of his groundbreaking lie detection software.
Alex has fond memories of Baltimore. Felix still calls him young man and maybe James Bond is a just a little bit jealous of their friendship.
It’s stiflingly hot, and Danny has watermelon in his hair. He’s had too much potato salad that he doesn’t have room for the spicy bean burger Felix hand made just for him, because he’s vegan. Maybe he’ll have his sandwich while they watch the fireworks later.
James is regaling Felix’s mother and aunties with tales of adventure and romance and mystery. Felix knows he’s full of shit but he loves seeing the excitement on his mama’s face.
Q found the neighborhood cats. He misses his own. Pampuria and Turing would absolutely devour the half-smoke he’s feeding the kitties right now, but they’re staying with their Granny Susan until he returns. He looks over and catches Felix’s eye.
It’s a good life.
