Some old art of Baron von Sheldgoose and Lord Felldrake from Legend of the Three Caballeros.
So… I still have goose brainrot… and I have some HCs for this little dude! And I figured I’d infodump them here!
Even before he found felldrake in his secret basement, he’s always known some magic spells, incantations, and other categories of magic!
He has a WHOLE LOTTA BOOKS! He has spell books, ritual books, poem books, spooky story books and He has several field guides of monsters, demons, exotic animals, and ghosts.
He’s an absolute book worm which is why he doesn’t really have many technical tools.
If you ask him about his favorite book, he’ll go on a ramble about how he loves ALL of his books and will infodump for days
He is definitely a goose of style! Sure he has casual outfits too but his main style is Victorian goth!
YES HE WEARS DRESSES!!!! Does he care what other people think?? NOPE! He has a lot of fun while dressing up too! If it’s for a very special occasion like a party or a meeting between other politicians of the quackmore institute.
He also collects jewelry! First reason being: s h i n y, and the second reason being: to find the ring of his ancestors! But he’ll get sidetracked at times and find other shinies.
(MY FAVORITE HCS I’VE THOUGHT UP OF!!! SHELDGOOSE AND Y/N HCS!!!!!!!)
Weather if you just met him or known him for YEARS he still gets MMMAD FLUSTERED when you pick him up or hug him but after a while he just melts in your arms. He’ll also get flustered by smooches and pecs.
Felldrake, depending on what Y/N’s personality is like, is either neutral with Y/N ooooorrr absolutely DESPISES Y/N.
If felldrake hates Y/N, they’d have to stick up for sheldgoose of course he’s thankful for you doing so! If it’s a more neutral relationship/friendship with felldrake, he won’t do much to sheldgoose to say the very least.
Felldrake gets “grossed out” by Y/N and sheldgoose’s love but it’s just felldrake being super jealous of you two! (….loveless bastard.)
Sheldgoose would definitely give Y/N pet names! Love, darling, dove, Angel, and one that’s oddly specific but SO ADORABLE; basically he’ll ask you what Y/N’s birthstone is and call you for example: “My precious ruby!”
Baron von sheldgoose appreciation post!

Felldrake, Spitting
“Felldrakes” by Sam Wood, © Wizards of the Coast. Accessed at the Monster Manual II Art Gallery here
[Commissioned by @justicegundam82. And dedicated to @canwefixitnoitsfucked, who in my undergrad years argued extensively that damage types had alignments, and that acid damage was either chaotic or evil. Clearly the MMII designers disagreed.]
Felldrake, Spitting CR 2 NG Dragon This lean draconic quadruped has legs low to the ground, and greenish saliva staining its teeth.
Spitting felldrakes are among the more intelligent felldrakes, which reflects their independence compared to the rest of the species. Although spitting felldrakes certainly enjoy attention and being coddled in an elven home, they are frequently found on missions in the subterranean lands, patrolling caves and cavern systems near elven lands to search for potential dangers. Although most spitting felldrakes encounter little more than orcs and monstrous vermin on these patrols, they typically hope to test their skills against that hated enemy of elvenkind, the drow.
Spitting felldrakes are comfortable in tight spaces, and when left to their own devices prefer narrow, claustrophic lairs. They are stealthier than most other felldrakes, and frequently attack from ambush. They prefer to keep their distance, making hit and run attacks using their acidic spittle at range, then retreating and using their superior darkvision to keep sighted enemies on their toes. Most spitting felldrakes understand their value as sentries is greater if they are alive to report on their encounters, and will flee from a losing battle to inform and gather reinforcements.
A spitting felldrake is six feet long on average, and stands about eighteen inches high at the shoulder.
Felldrake, Horned
“Felldrakes” by Sam Wood, © Wizards of the Coast. Accessed at the Monster Manual II Art Gallery here
[Commissioned by @justicegundam82. On the crested felldrake post, there’s been some discussion about why Good-aligned dragons have the prefix “fell”, when that archaic, beloved-by-fantasy-writers adjective typically means “evil, cruel”. My Watsonian explanation is that the elves call their drakes this for intimidation/ironic value, like naming a sweet dog Killer. My Doylist explanation is that whoever named the felldrakes either didn’t know or didn’t care that it means “evil”, preferring the “deadly” definition]
Felldrake, Horned CR 3 NG Dragon This quadrupedal reptile is the size of a pony, with the vestigial stumps of wings growing from its back. Several long curving horns grow from its head, gleaming like metal.
Horned felldrakes are goodly, flightless dragons used by elves as bodyguards to nobles and sages. These creatures are kindly unless provoked, but are fierce foes of evil. The horns of a horned felldrake are interwoven with various precious metals, making them skilled at fighting demons, lycanthropes, wicked fey and other enemies with damage reduction. They do require a supply of metal in their diet, and much of a horned felldrake’s treasure consists of a larder of metal items.
With their strong backs and patient attitudes, horned felldrakes make fine mounts for Small creatures. Elves are usually too large to ride them in combat, but the felldrakes may carry loads or help train children in the art of riding. Halflings and gnomes are more likely to ride a horned felldrake in combat, and the creature makes for a potent and dangerous ally.
A horned felldrake is eight feet long and stands three feet high at the shoulder.
Crested Felldrake
“Felldrakes” by Sam Wood, © Wizards of the Coast. Accessed at the Monster Manual II Art Gallery here
[Commissioned by @justicegundam82. The felldrakes were originally created for the late 2e/early 3e version of the Chainmail miniatures game, with the intention of making interesting, cheap units for Good-aligned armies. Too bad that the MMII gives them barely any flavor text to go along with the concept. Small, not-too-bright dragons associated with elves are a pretty neat idea, but not one the book makes much of.]
Felldrake, Crested CR 1 NG Dragon This bipedal reptile stands as tall as a man’s hip, with green scaled skin and a brightly colored crest running down its back
The felldrakes are an assortment of flightless dragons of mild intellect and goodly disposition. They are associated with elves—legend credits their creation to a dragon god seeking to provide an elven ally with guardians against the forces of evil. Most felldrakes are still found in association with elves, where they serve roles somewhere between that of domestic animals and servants.
Crested felldrakes are the smallest and weakest of the felldrakes, and they are typically used as household guards and hunting companions. Crested felldrakes are very social among themselves, and are comfortable with large families and in sizable packs. Like all felldrakes, they are omnivores with a taste for meat, and frequently keep elven settlements free of minor pests via snacking on them.
Crested felldrakes are simple combatants that fight in large numbers whenever possible. They use their Acrobatics skill to leap on opponents from a height, or to surround a foe to set up flanking opportunities. Despite their size, their scissor-like jaws strike with the force of a longsword. They are willing to lay down their life in order to protect those they care about, either a humanoid or another felldrake.
A crested felldrake grows to about five feet long, and half of that length is tail. They weigh less than 50 pounds.
Mr. Felldrake?..... Mr. Felldrake?
Oh my fucking god..... He fucking dead.
