In response to 'groin'.
Ivan and Seleste hearthstone cards.

Sibelius meets Garavion! (Yay)
Ivan Felsorrow was leaned over one of the tables in the Undercity Apothecarium, his gaze affixed on the item in question that he held beneath the large table microscope. He turned it in his hands beneath the visually enhancing lenses, inspecting it thoroughly.
The Sin'dorei Paladin, Udina Redsun came marching down into the laboratory, his heavy plated boot-steps causing his position to easily be given away. His fire-red hair contrasted dramatically against the dark and gloomy colors of the lab, and he did not appear to be happy judging by the expression on his face. He looked around the lab for a moment, before speaking aloud in a commanding voice. "Which one of you Forsaken is Ivan Felsorrow?" He questioned them all, and everyone in the room seemed to turn in unison. One of them even told him to keep it down before he set his eyes on the Forsaken warlock who stood out in the middle of the room, marching toward him before he could even respond.
Ivan lifted his head as his name was called, and it was quite literally the only point in which his attention was gathered away from the sparkling rock beneath the microscope. He did indeed stand out like a sore thumb amongst the other Apothecaries, his mask's red gaze locking onto the red-haired paladin that stepped toward him. "Can I help you?" He arched a brow beneath his mask, giving the man a curious look.
Udina was already nearly in front of him, and immediately he questioned the man. "Where is Kandis? Where is the boat she's on headed?"
The Doctor tilted his cowled head to the side at that, as if thinking on the topic for a moment. "I don't believe I know the answer to that. I'm sorry, who are you again?"
The Blood Knight's brow furrowed in frustration as he was once again denied an answer to his daughter's where-about. "I am her father." He stated this bluntly and without pause.
Ivan's own brow lifted a few inches entirely in surprise, glancing over the man. "Ah. That's... interesting... You are..." <My sister-in-law's father, my father-in-law.> He thought to himself. "You are Garavion Willowsong then, I assume?" He questioned, quickly pocketing the shiny, unmistakeable object into one of his robe's many compartments. He turned entirely to face the man to better address him.
Garavion seemed taken aback, almost surprised for a moment. "Yes, I am he. What affiliation do you have with my daughter? <Which one?> Ivan mused, the idea bringing a smirk to his face. He truly wanted to tell this man the truth, but he figured he'd explain exactly how close their families had integrated another day. "Ah, yes, Kandis. She is an employee, and a student of mine. Where did you happen to hear about the fact that she works for me?" He inquired, truly curious.
The Sin'dorei was appalled. A student?! No, he was obviously lying. Wasn't he? Not his little girl. He shook his head, still interrogating, clearly holding no room for politeness with an undead warlock dressed like -this- of all things. "You are fabricating that, my daughter would not associate with the likes of you and learn your... whatever it is you do around here. I could not even comprehend the idea of her summoning -demons-, either, so that is also false. Contact her at once, I demand to speak with her." The Demonologist shook his head, lifting his hands into a shrug. "There is nothing I can do for you there, if I could contact her, I would have done so by now."
The paladin offered a sigh, shaking his head. He lifted his hand to his faceplate, unlocking it and pulling it away to reveal his features and his tired, saddened expression. "Look." For the first time since they began talking, genuine remorse filled his voice. "My daughter is all I have left to hope for in this world, and I just want to see her again. I have not seen hear in six years. I lost her mother, I lost her sister, and I thought I lost her too. I lost my job, changed my name, and tried to put it all behind me, but then I learned that she was alive again, and it gave me a sliver of hope. Please, there must be some good in you. I cannot expect you to understand feelings and the idea of care for another person, but if you could simply find it in your heart to let me talk to her, I would be very grateful."
The words seemed to break through for a moment, perhaps to a being that had been locked away for a long time inside of the warlock's long-since-removed heart, and Ivan merely stood there and listened, not even interrupting the man's sob story. Unfortunately... That did not last long. As the man started to speak about -Ivan- not knowing the concept of care for another, the warlock's brows tilted downward. "Let me stop you there, just a moment."
"You claim to know more about -care- for another person than I do?" He questioned, stepping forward and closing the distance between the two men, his mask's red eyes locking firmly onto the man's green orbs. <You don't know the -first- thing about care. I've heard the stories about you. I've heard the things that -you- have done to -your- family. -Your- daughter. You, my friend, you are the monster.> At least, that is what Ivan -wanted- to say. Unfortunately, all he could say was "I don't want to hear about your ignorance." with eyes narrowed nearly to slits. He was obviously angry now. "Get out of here, get out of my sight now, before I do something that you'll regret." He spoke coldly and crisply, his tone obviously hostile. He lifted his hand and pointed toward the entrance that Garavion had entered.
Garavion seemed once again surprised by the man's hostility, and it didn't even seem like he understood why he suddenly grew angered in such a fashion. "It appears I have said something to anger you. I do not know what it was I did, but I apologize. If you will not help me, I will depart." He knew he had no choice but to abide here in the Undercity, as the law was not on his side. With that, not wanting to take anymore down-talk from this undead man, he turned, moving to make his way up the steps and out of the laboratory once more.
Ivan watched the man depart, thousands upon thousands of furious thoughts and downright anger racing through his head. <I wonder what he'd say if he knew I cared more for -his- daughter than he ever did.> His lips twitched into a hidden snarl, his teeth baring in frustration. <Oh, I bet he wouldn't approve either. She's married to a human...> He paused for a moment, before tilting his head to the side. <Perhaps I -should've- told him where Kandis is. He'd get to meet -her- human as well.> The thought was almost too great to pass up, and soon he found himself grinning at it. <His -human- sons-in-law.> He chuckled at that, lifting a hand to the side of his cowl to speak into his communicator. "Leviticus Marshall Strauss..." He began. "Let's have a talk."
Memoirs of a Sociopath: Episode 9
"Good morning, journal. I assume your pages are doing well today? Why yes, I fare rather nicely. Thank you for asking."
"In light of recent events, I have taken a small hiatus from brutal murder and mutilation. There is no one true reason, I suppose you can say I am simply not in the mood for it right now. 'Why, Mister Felsorrow,' you may be saying. 'That is not like you at all!' But of course it isn't. It doesn't, however seem all that bad to me right this moment."
"I have decided in the meanwhile to take up a few activities that I, at one point decided no longer to pursue. Amongst these activities, is the piano. At one point in my lifetime, I played rather well if I do say so myself. Ten thousand gold pieces, (Yes, count them, ten.) and a few hours later, I am once again in possession of a rather nice, chestnut-cased grand piano sitting in the dining room."
"It did take me a few minutes to re-learn the names of each key, though the sheet music that the piano came with was easy enough to read. That is, once I opened the display of the music rack and learned they had left it inside. I like to think of it not so much as it being forgotten there, but an added bonus to come with the rather... pricy purchase."
"Needless to say, I managed to re-learn the tunes I knew by heart in life rather quickly. Within quarter of an hour of the grand being in the house, the entire inner sanctum of the home was blessed with wondrous song. I'd add in a bit of a twist to a certain note in a certain line in a certain song I once knew, and that twist would spiral off into something amazing."
"'But Mister Felsorrow,' you may ask. 'What do you mean by amazing?' Well, I'll tell you. I'd thereon proceed to weave my fingers into one of the most fabulous parlays with the ebony and ivory keys before me that I've ever heard from anyone, and that is saying something with my musical knowledge. I played furiously, my digits moving across the piano with such a precise nature that you could've sworn the note ideas were being sent to me from the divine. I'd hit something that I thought sounded wonderful, then proceed to build up and up and up on that note through such a perfectly executed pattern that I'm afraid I'd never be able to replicate it again. It was, in a word, breathtaking."
"Alas... I was unable to record the piece I played in the 'heat of the moment', you could say. I had worked myself up so quickly into playing something entirely spontaneous and unplanned, yet so phenomenal, that I hadn't even thought to begin recording it."
"Actually, that is a lie. For a brief moment in the midst of my playing, I thought about what a shame it was that I had not been recording. But it was just too beautiful to stop and hit record for. Perhaps I will be able to improvise something similar once again when I have more time to play."
"I must say, playing brings back quite a few memories, in addition to making my day... Perhaps I could elaborate on them at a later date. But for now... duty calls."
Memoirs of a Sociopath: Episode 8
"Hello, everyone, and welcome back to another edition of Memoirs of a Sociopath, thought up and brought down on paper by me, Ivan Felsorrow."
"Today, I would like to bring a something very important to everyone's attention. A rather intricate problem that has weaved its way into our society. I am talking of course about ghosts. Spirits of the dead that linger in specific areas and invade your space while you think you are alone.
They are all over the place. In our houses, on our farmlands, in our canals, crypts, cities, towns, and lonely forest roads. It is a distinctive problem especially in our very own Lordaeron region. They watch and observe as we plot and scheme, and most of the time we are unaware they are even there. This can be particularly -bad- if someone was trying to keep a secret and then said secret was learned through a ghost who knows better by a person who can talk to the dead.
Spirits and lingering souls are not good for our environment. In fact, this is what I want you to do. Run to the closest warlock and convince them to trap as many souls in your home as possible into tiny glass shards, called soul shards. Then, allow said warlock to use the trapped souls as currency while bartering with demonic forces. I assure you, no unwanted gateways to hell will be left open in your humble abode. None that should concern you, at any rate."
"This was a public service announcement by me, Ivan Felsorrow.
~ Resident Demonologist and Doctor for the people of Lordaeron."
Memoirs of a Sociopath: Episode 7
"I hope you are all having a wonderful December. I am not. Today I am merely writing to take my mind off of... other things."
"I am sitting here in my study, the desk covered in intricately sketched diagrams of elegantly thought-out methods of bodily mutilation. Why, you ask? Because I am currently in the middle of designing a new torture device. Of course, I am being picky and I am having a hard time deciding which one I want to turn into something more than just a diagram on paper." "Unfortunately, I can not focus on sketching for long, as each time I try, my gaze wanders over to that -other- set of drawings in the corner. I must get these images out of my head. I'm staring at them as even I write now, and it is becoming hard to concentrate on the words. I may need to take a break soon."
"Yes... Perhaps I should get up and go out. This... -probation- is making it so hard to sit still. I can't continue like this for ten more days. This is impossible. I am now entirely certain which part of these 'rules' is harder for me to follow. Though it is not apparent to anyone else, I think I am going crazy. I am miserable and furious in every sense of the words. But it will be worth it in the end. At least... that is what I keep telling myself."
"Now... If you'll excuse me, I have a person of much interest that I need to go find now, or I'll accidentally break this pen from writing so furiously."
Memoirs of a Sociopath: Episode 5
"It is good to see you all again, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome back to another journal entry in this book of Memoirs. It has been a week or two since my last writing, so I am clearly behind on the 'times', I suppose you can say."
"Today, I am answering a rather interesting question. To some people, at least. What am I thankful for? Thank you for asking me, me. You see, in my life, I am thankful for the fact that I died. In a reality which I did not, I never would have met my lovely wife Seleste. Who, goes without saying, I am also thankful for. If there is anything in the world that gives me actual joy, it is most definitely her. I'd like to follow through with something at this point which I hope you all pay attention to for your own sake, and for the sake of everyone you have ever cared about."
"If you ever take the information you have learned here and try to harm or touch her in any way, I will know. And I will never forget. To give an example of some of those who have made this mistake in the past, I murdered an entire Sin'dorei noble house because of the things two of their current generation of children did to her, one-by-one. I picked off every single member of the Hallowsun family. If you ever want the exact details for each death, I can give them to you. Just ask me. I'd love to explain each tiny little thing I did to them in the vivid recollection I have of it. It took me three, long years, but I managed it. I even killed the two that were raised into undeath, -again-."
"Another prime example of this would be Terick Baulvet, a noble of Stormwind and such a smart cookie that he thought he'd kidnap -my- Seleste for his own purposes. I removed his skin before he died, and returned it to his nearest of kin after he was buried in the Raven Hill cemetery."
"Last but not least for honorable mention is Ashandarei Dawnborn. Ah, yes. The prodigal rogue and member of the assassin's league who made the foolish decision to earn a spot on this list. Let's just say that when she realizes what I have waiting to show her, she'll wish she took Rhoenya's advice and kept her dinky little garrote toy to herself. She already regrets her action, but... some part of me feels as if that regret isn't sincere enough. It will be."
"But you all get the point, yes? I will repeat myself for the sake of clarification. You touch my Seleste, and you'll meet with a fate of my choosing. I am sure you understand by now."
"As always, it has been a pleasure writing to you folks. Have a wonderful evening."
