Opportunities: What opportunities are open to you?, What trends could you take advantage of?, How can you turn your strengths into opportunities?

Some opportunities that are open to me included: photography, tennis instructor/coach, globalization, higher education, basketball official (training). By meshing my natural and taught talents above with Instructional Design and Technology (ID&T) I would be on task of current trends of cross application for maximized service deliverables. Through the application of ID&T all of these opportunities can be greatly expounded upon opening new avenues allowing new approaching to education.

Threats: What threats could harm you?, What is your competition doing?, What threats do your weaknesses expose you to?

As with any profession the desire for someone to be on your team is usually always with the preference of knowledge and experience, which a lack of could definitely harm an individual’s chances of being hired. In this field there are frequent technology updates, which is why much of the competition is using their IT departments to create patches or hacks for ease of continued use of products of which they are familiar. My weakness or lack of knowledge and experience leave completely exposed at this time.

Weaknesses: What could you improve?, Where do you have fewer resources than others?, What are others likely to see as weaknesses?

I can definitely improve upon my timeliness as it pertains to procrastination and my organizational skills. The course was pretty self-driven with so confusion here and there from word selection and usage but myself adherence to time windows is definitely an area for improvement.

Strengths: What do you do well?, What unique resources can you draw on?, What do others see as your strengths?

Since the start of the course I took a rather fluid grasp of the theories and learning styles as well as how to apply them in instructional design. Some of the unique resources I can draw on for creation and expansion would be my following certifications: Mental Health First Aid, CPR, First Aid & AED Certified, QPR (Question Persuade Refer) Suicide Prevention Trainer, Level 1 Certified Life Coach - Univ. West Michigan Fellow, Certified TiPs Alcohol Awareness Trainer. Others see me as a leader, mentor, listener, problem-solver and the go to.

Week 4 Inspirational Quote

As I sit in St. Petersburg listening to the festive sounds of a PRIDE Celebration outside of my hotel window, something I knew nothing about when planning to visit family here this weekend. Seeing everyone moving around me laughing and smiling, happy and free, heterosexual families and the LGBTQQ Community  without making faces and/or pointing fingers, just genuine fun. It made me feel a little bit closer to accomplishing the “Dream” of my late fraternity brother, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as well as our nation’s great 44th, President Baraka Obama. Through his inspiring quote resounding the importance of total equality and acceptance of adversity regardless of any individuals identified sexual preference or orientation. This fairness is due to every single American, not select individuals or races. I vow to never deny service to any individual based upon such self-disclosed or assumptive decrees.
