SWV vs Xscape

SWV > Xscape

I see SWV & Xscape have a joint reality tv show coming out. I get it, everyone is trying to get their bag. However, in my humble opinion, they’re not even in the same category. At best, Xscape sounds like a really good high school talent show performance. Whereas SWV had that R&B & Hip-Hop mix that the 90s were so good at delivering. Even hardcore Hip-Hop heads dug them. I won’t even mention the Biggie line that he said about Xscape. Google it if you’re curious, haven’t heard, or have forgotten it. In my ignorant, semi-misogynistic youth I thought it was hilarious. Now, when I look back on it, I wonder how they felt about it. I wonder if they turned off Biggie songs when they came on the radio, or if they stopped dancing when they were at the club and the DJ played “Mo Money, Mo Problems’ or ‘Notorious Thugs’. Anyway, besides SWV being dope, they were one of the first R&B groups that I remember sampling other artists when they had a mashup with the King of Pop Michael Jackson’s ‘Human Nature’. With all that being said I’m sure I’ll watch for pure nostalgia. I’m also a sucker for reality shows, the worse the better see Bad Girls Club, Party Down South, and either one of the shore shows that MTV gave us.

Thoughts on the Fullsail Grimm Contest controversy as of late?

they should’ve made this an internal company or fndm blind vote. no one knows the artist, no chance of any va’s not even tied to the show influencing the vote.

dropping the hollowed artist was wrong, she had agreed to change the name & aspects of the grimm so it wasn’t appropriative or offensive & that should’ve been good enough. i saw her tweet & she seemed incredibly upset, my heart hurts for her bc this must’ve been such a kick in the teeth.

people blaming hero hei & adel aka but not korra’s va are hypocrites.

even though they didn’t have to, the grimm rhino artist retracting their submission in a show of solidarity was really nice & i wish both artists well, they have a lot of talent & deserve true compensation for it, which leads into my last point.

this contest should never of happened! a ton of artists, including some in rt, came out against this contest; rightfully saying it was predatory & exploitative of artists in fullsail, it would not be giving them the full recompense that should be given to them for their creations. this isn’t like the velvet outfit design, rt literally just choosing beggar’d a grimm out of people, that would be entirely theirs, for a measly $250. do fucking better rt.

Someone unbiased explain to me what happened with the fullsail contest for RWBY Grimm designs? I'm hearing some shit after they announced the winner about a Wendigo design being racist and also some other stuff about the artist who submitted was ripping off another artist? I'm confused and need help.
