Hey, how do you think it would have been if one of the brothers were a girl. it would be more difficult for them, because imagine how unsafe the streets would be for a girl. But like, if bo were a younger sister, all i can think about is that Mako has to figure out how to deal with bos puberty and help bo with is girly stuff like bras, mensuration and what not. And if mako was he girl, bo is going to grow to be taller one, but i also think bo would hate it if some boy tries to hook up with mako.

I could have sworn I’d answered a question like this before, but I scoured my whole archive and I couldn’t find it. Ah well. 

In terms of safety for women, I do have to wonder. We didn’t see any women in the triads, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any. I would hope that in a world where half the population can throw rocks, icicles, and fire with their minds, that incidents would be less common, since you can’t tell if someone’s a bender just by looking at them. This is also a world where, outside the Northern Water Tribe, men and women are treated equally, at least from what we’ve seen. That doesn’t mean something couldn’t happen, I’m sure it has. But I also hope there’d be more resources in this world for women in danger. But would the writing team have ever brought that up if they had made one of the brothers a girl? Probably not. 

I have said in a previous post that since the avatar verse is based on Eastern cultures and philosophies if there was no West, so talks of sex and puberty might not have been as taboo in this universe. I would hope that there were some women that could help the siblings if one was a girl. I already headcanon that perhaps a woman in the Triple Threats, or maybe one of the member’s girlfriends or mistresses might have given them The Talk at some point, and they may have shown them some kindness. If Bolin or Mako were a girl, I think that said woman would be even more likely to take them under wing, and they would be the one to help get all those necessities when it was finally time. Women supporting women, you know? I do think that if Bo was the girl, Mako would be more protective over him and would hate anyone trying to flirt with her. And considering Bolin’s already flirty personality in books 1 & 2, Mako might have something to fear there. However, with Mako would be the one to take the initiative and ask for help for Bo about bras, menstration, etc. Anything that will help him take care of Bo, he will find out. It’s probably awkward at first, but by the time Mako is dating Asami and Korra, that kind of stuff doesn’t even phase him anymore. Now, if Mako was the girl, I think Bo would just learn about that stuff through osmosis instead of directly asking. Mako would ask and get her answers. Bo would be protective too, but in a different way than Mako. Mako would get protective by physically coming between Bo and her suitor, and acting like an angry mama bear, while Bolin would be very loud and falsely-positive. Like, “Hey Mako, my one and only sister, best friend forever, who is this you’re talking to? Surely he’s not thinking of taking you out past the gym’s curfew, right? With all those Equalists running around? He would never think of doing something to put you danger, would he? Because he knows if you were hurt in any way…well… we wouldn’t be responsible for what could happen to him, would we?” I imagine that if he actually worked on being intimidating, he could be kind of terrifying.

Also, I think fem!Mako would still be really tall. I don’t know why, but i just can’t imagine Mako short, no matter what gender.

is fem!bolin still a bara? as in, is she as buff as male!bolin? :) will we ever see her in action in your art? :D

I’ve always imagined her having a similar body type as Korra. But hell yeah Imma draw her in action when I have the time!!! :D

Fem!Bolin came out to short but whatever :D

I'm sorry to everyone who came here for art and instead have to suffer this rubbish. I'll tag all these awful fumblings of cosplay as "Bolinda" so you can avoid them if you so wish. :)

Finally dyed my hair to a darker shade, now all I have to do is figure out how Bolinda hair will...work. I know there are some fantastic Bolin genderbend designs out there as well as some amazing cosplays of them but I would personally feel like I'm pinching other folks designs (even if I got permission, I'm weird like that).

So its off to the design board, and a long way to go to get into shape but heres hoping? ;)

That last picture is solid proof that I really need to get out more.

So a while back...

my boyfriend asked me what I wanted to dress up for come October 31st.

So i've decided to have a crack a fem!Bolin, mainly because I think I have the nose and the eyebrows for it XD. Not really in shape for it though, but hopefully this will give me insentive to get in shape (not that its worked before haha). And my hair is going back to its natural, darker shade.

So the reason this is here is because I would like ask you lovely Bolin fans and Bolinsexuals if I could pull it off. :>
