As the daughter of an important member of the Circle, Raina grew up surrounded by serious talks about the mermaid coven. Even though she was only seven years old when the shapeshifters came to Arcenia, she already understood that they were a threat to the mermaids. Her father had repeatedly countless times that these shapeshifters were a nuisance and that they shouldn’t be here. It was natural that Raina thought of them as the enemy as soon as the Circle established that thought. And instead of being terrified of the shapeshifters, she spent her days as a young girl trying to find ways to get rid of this group of people alongside her parents and her older brother. She wanted to do something to help the coven, and she decided that she would not just sit around and wait for something to happen. She was going to do something about it.
These days, Raina could be found either at her home, or by the shore of Arcenia, watching the shapeshifters and studying them. At home, the young mermaid would do things that would help the mermaids win the war against the shapeshifters. She’d practice using and controlling her powers tirelessly, and she’d spend so many hours reading about the power of the Arcenian mermaids. She wanted to know everything she could that would help with driving the shapeshifters off from the island, and she was devoted to it. While most other mermaids and mermen her age would probably leave the fighting to the older members of the mermaid coven, Raina didn’t care that she was only seventeen. It didn’t matter if she was still quite young, she wanted to fight for the mermaids. On the shore, Raina also wouldn’t hesitate to attack any shapeshifters who looked like they were going to do harm on the mermaids. Any suspicious behaviors that she saw would result in her manipulating the water and rising the tide.
For her age, she was an extremely mature mermaid. She wasn’t shallow and she thought about things that most mermaids her age would not be thinking about. Raina’s mind was constantly filled up by thoughts of the future of the coven and the existence of the mermaids instead of things like crushes and all that. She didn’t care much about having boyfriends or being popular, and though she wanted to be accepted by her friends, she never did put pressure to herself when it came to appearances. Raina also had an intelligent mind with lots of bright ideas. However, she could also be quite judgmental and opinionated about things, and once she made up her mind on something, it was pretty difficult to change her mind. She could get very fierce and irrational when she got angry as well, and an angry Raina was not a scene that anyone would like to see.

She was extremely protective of her brother and would do anything for him.
She enjoyed reading books, whether they were fictional or non-fictional.
Her ability to manipulate water was quite excellent, and she could go as far as changing the temperature of the water.
