Decades without memory of who he’d been, but now -- now he remembers everything, every vicious assignment he was sent on. Every ‘class’ of widows he helped put through the horrors of training. So when the girl passes through in the crowd, an easily missed slip of a thing, he knows her.

Well, he doesn’t know her -- the only widow he would claim to know was Nat -- but the flash of her face was enough to bring back memories of the Red Room. To change the direction of his steps and set him trailing behind her.

should he be worried? scared, even? perhaps, but he isn't. for some reason, he's not that intimidated by her, it's weird. usually --- and it's marked as usually, he would say something snarky, but he won't. steve just chuckles a little bit, crossing his arms over his chest, as if he hasn't been hurt before.
