OK, OK...so many questions and comments flooded in* from the last post on the Mandocaster, literally begging for more info on the "other" #guitar in the photo, that it's just way easier to post this shot than reply to everyone individually! 1969 #Fender #Swinger in #CandyApple. A quick consultation of page 268 in Martin Kelly & @terry_foster's book "Fender The Golden Age 1946 to 1970" reminded me that these were put together as a way to use up surplus parts from the less popular 3/4 scale #Musicmaster/#Duosonic/#Mustang models that Fender had in overstock since 1967. They basically took the Musicmaster body and neck and ran them *creatively* through the bandsaw to arrive at this distinctive body and headstock shape! Between 300 and 600 Swingers were made. Some have the model name as a separate sticker (as opposed to a decal) on the the headstock and some, like this one, do not. They were offered in Daphne, Dakota, Black, LPB, Olympic White, and of course, #CandyAppleRed #fenderthegoldenage #fenderswinger #guitars #guitarra #chitarra #guitarre #electricguitar #vintageguitars #fenderguitars #vintagefender #tone #guitargear #guitarsofinstagram #geartalk #guitargear #vintagegear #guitarsdaily #fendersofinstagram #guitarphotography *j.k. literally no questions or comments were received except for @the_damo_experience who correctly guessed what the guitar was by seeing only a small portion of the body! 🤣 https://www.instagram.com/p/CewQAp0L772/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
