Song of the Period of Time Until My Next Post
Hi :) So! Riverside had a nice long run because work has been my entire life for several months but I’m back in action for at least long enough to write this.
Whisky Tide - Ferester
Run Time: 3:24
Genre: Indie, folk, kinda country-ish vibe in parts?
“If I were the waves, and you were the coast, I’d crash in your bays and drift to your coves //
“Wishing I could stay forever on your shores.”
I first heard this song in the background of one of my friend’s Snapchat stories.
This is easily one of my favorite love songs I know. There’s no grand declaration or promises nobody’s going to keep. Time goes on, and on and on, but no matter what happens or where two people end up, the love, the ache is still there. And maybe one day it will be different, and they’ll have all the time in the world. Until then, what they have is enough.
My favorite parts of this song include, of course, the coastal imagery, as someone from Maine who never shuts the fuck up about being from Maine (did you guys know I’m from Maine btw?) and the bridge toward the end because overlapping vocals 😍
It is late April which means I am in the lull between my two seasonal jobs. This is typically when I latch onto a love song and start believing I’ll actually relate to it one day. A direct result of 1) starting to feel ever so slightly human again with time off and 2) knowing it will be starting to warm up into the 50°-60°s consistently pretty soon. I will get over myself soon, but in the meantime, listen to Whisky Tide!
If you end up liking this song, I also recommend:
