The deep red flowers of Paeonia tenuifolia (fernleaf peony, fennel-leaved peony, slender-leaved peony) seem to sink into ‘cushions’ of the fine, feathery foliage. This herbaceous perennial reaches up to 60cm in height and is ideal for the front of the border. This specimen is under planted with Galanthus (snowdrop) which have flowered and are now going dormant, they make a useful combination.

I like peonies but im not into the pink i usually see. THIS one though! Its a Red Fern Leaf Peony. Its beyond beautiful! The woman i bought this from was thinning out the ones in her garden, and her garden was more beautiful than what you see in magazines!
