At the same event, the Ferrari TRI60 prototype was presented, on the basis of which Carlo Chiti developed the next Ferrari TRI61 model with independent rear suspension and a more modern Fantuzzi body. In 1961, Olivier Gendebien and Phil Hill won two races driving a Ferrari TRI61: the 12 Hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
