A short story - The Titans of Ferray

I have Transported to an interesting existence. The technology level here is very low - there are only basic tools made of a certain material, which is specific to this existence. I will talk about it later. This world is a quite the harsh one, because of these beings the locals call "Titans". The Titans are huge creatures that are made of fire, or fire-adjacent thing. It's not that clear. They walk from east to west, and you'll see one every week or so. And when they come, they bring ruin. They call it "A Titanpass". Those things burn everything that is unprotected, so humans here have to hide in buildings or caves. And the humans that get caught in the Titans' fire? They don't just die. No, they become creatures called Burners - blobs of fire that kill every humans they see. I'm still researching about the reason for this transformation, but it's dangerous nontheless. I'm unsure about what would happen to a Lore Searcher or a LoreSinger if they're caught in the Titans' fire - would we just Transport like from a normal death, or would something else happen? The reason I'm wondering about this, is because Burners have similar minds to humans - they feel like the core of a human's mind, but… degraded. It's a bit weird. These Burners have cores - if you hit the core enough, the Burner dies and the core turns into a material called Ash Glass. It's unclear whether the core's material changes, or the core is simply held together by some force while the Burner is alive. This Ash Glass, though, is a valuable material in this existence. If left outside while a Titanpass is taking place, the Ash will transform into a solid block of glass. Humans here use it to create tools - they leave it at certain configurations, to cause it to harden into tools. Mostly weapons. Another interesting fact, is the existence of buildings. Currently, no group has enough resources, free time and manpower to build buildings, but there are many old buildings scattered around, and even more remains of buildings that were destroyed. Looking at the estimated age for the buildings, it looks like there were many eras in which buildings were built, but the current harsh reality of this existence is nowhere near enough for humans here to build. I think there might be more to this existence than what I initially thought. I now realize that I have not yet described this existence in this documentation. This existence looks like a wasteland. Everywhere you look is gray, filled with ash, as everything was burned to the ground. In the far west, there are huge piles of ash - they're called the "Ash Mountains". You might wonder, what exactly do people here eat? Well, after every Titanpass, many small, glowing fruits are left on the ground. They're called "Glowfruits", which isn't the most creative name, but it definitely fits. They're very nutritious - they have pretty much all of the necessary things that the human body needs. Weirdly enough, those fruits are bright cyan and tend to be cold. I think that might be related to how they're formed. Aside from that, the humans here say they rarely eat animals, but I have never seen one. They're mostly living underground, and seeing one is quite rare. I think I might stay here a bit longer, because those questions seem like they might have interesting answers.
