"C'mon, you're not a bitch are you?" Vadim flinched while his three friends laughed. He sneered, "Of course not, I was just thinking of the perfect demon to summon and make you all eat your words." His friend Boris snorted. "Sure. I'll believe you when you walk your talk." With a huff Vadim grabbed a book off the nearby shelf, flipping through it.
He actually had no clue what demon to summon, or even which one he should. Might as well pick the scariest looking one to knock his buddies' socks off. Jyel... Quarok... Kelax... Ah, perfect! He landed on a pure black hulking demon with eight red eyes and large horns, Fersephlus. This one would work just fine.
Skimming over his description, he grabbed a piece of black chalk from his bag, starting to replicate the summoning sign on the wooden floor while his friends laughed among themselves about something else. After cross checking the pattern, he was surprised to see that the only activator for the circle was a drop of blood from the summoner. At least that would be easy.
Pricking his thumb, he squeezed drops of blood into the proper spots before stepping back and taking a deep breath. He smirked and called to his friends, "Ready to eat shit?" They just chuckled, fully ready to watch Vadim fail. Book in one hand, he stood at the marked 'bottom' of the circle, going over the spell one time before beginning.
He ignited a simple flame spell in his open palm, muttering the call for this particular demon. The flame turned ruby red, flaring up as he spoke the demon's name.
The chalk morphed into flames that matched the hue Vadim held in his palm, and he forced himself to stay still as the black smoke spiraled to the middle of the circle, massing together and taking on a tall, ominous form. As the flames died down and the smoke grew solid, eight blood red eyes snapped open.
Vadim celebrated to himself when he heard his friends' fear.
Fersephlus growled, "What contract would you wish for, summoner?" He seemed a tad bored, but his wretched aura kept Vadim from getting too comfortable. He looked back to his book, skimming through his description again until he landed on contracts. Quickly picking one out, he closed the book and replied, "Watcher."
From what he'd seen, and from how much energy he'd used, this demon seemed like a strong one worth contracting anyways. The Watcher contract seemed simple enough, just a little energy each day for an ally he could call on in times of need, if he understood correctly. The book was a bit old.
Fersephlus seemed amused by his choice. "Hold out your hand, boy." Vadim obeyed, expecting a handshake. However, Fersephlus kneeled and grabbed his wrist, biting his hand and eliciting a yelp from Vadim. He barely nicked the skin, but the shock rippled through his veins. Fersephlus stood again, a long red tongue licking where Vadim assumed his lips were. "You should read more in depth before you summon, boy."
One of his large hands covered Vadim's mouth, and a repulsing feeling of something entering his body followed, slowly dripping down his throat like mucus. Vadim would have screamed if he could as he felt something clutch his heart. Fersephlus uttered words of a language he didn't recognize before letting the boy go. Vadim fell on all fours, coughing furiously.
Fersephlus chuckled, looking over at his new contractor's friends shaking and clinging to one another. The fools had most likely dared him to summon a terror such as him. Hopefully they didn't value his life much, because Fersephlus intended to make quick work of consuming him.
