Et Dieu... créa la femme (Roger Vadim, 1956)
Vadim neeeeds that fat man or he's gonna explode.
Back at the memes again cause I miss their insanity
Made this account so I could get my Z.A.T.O. brainworms out there, haha.
Small spoilers ahead btw. I try not to go too in depth but this counts as character analysis... I think.
Anyways, I don't think Vadim is a bad guy. I think he's a troubled teenager who is among the wrong crowd and doesn't know better (to some degree). I think he can be sweet and nice, at least as nice as he can physically manage, like seen with Marina. He shows genuine concern over Asya at times (notably at the movie theatre) and it makes me believe there's more to him, more that I wish we got to explore better in the game.
When he's with his friends, he's an asshole, of course. But his friends encourage it. When he's around Marina (+ alone with Asya honestly because he doesn't seem to get mad at her or react in a shocking manner beyond when he thinks she's toying with him/looking down on him.) He doesn't seem to go out of his way as much to be mean. It feels to me like that state of asshole-ness is something he needs to remind himself of when he's not already being reminded of it (by his friends).
I think he, as a teenage boy, thinks like a teenage boy; Is afraid of how he is/could be perceived by others and tries to appear tough or stronger than he might be in fear of being made fun of, or something similar. I can't be certain of the reason why, but it makes sense to me when I think about his family and the conditions they're supposedly in and how he might fear being viewed the same way, as someone crazy and wrong in the head or pathetic and worth looking down upon.
But those are just my thoughts.
