It’s getting close to the big day now and there’s nothing better than having a nice coffee with a twist at this time of year. You don’t need to go to one of the big chains because you can create a Christmas drink all by yourself. Here are a few you should try.
6 cups coffee (hot brewed)
In a small bowl, mix together the molasses, brown sugar, baking soda, ginger and cinnamon until well blended.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 10 minutes.
Add about a ¼ cup of coffee to each cup, then stir in about a tablespoon of the spice mixture until dissolved.
Fill cup to within an inch of the top with coffee.
Stir in the cream to taste, then garnish with whipped cream and a light dusting of cloves.
64 oz brewed coffee (brewed strong)
½ cup sweetened condensed milk
4 Maraschino cherries with stems
Prepare coffee according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Stir sweetened condensed milk into coffee, and serve immediately with a dollop of whipped cream, a stick of cinnamon and a maraschino cherry.
Place coffee, eggnog and dream topping in a large bowl and whisk until smooth.
Add rum and stir until blended.
To serve, garnish each cup with whipped cream and grated nutmeg, if desired.
2 tbsp coffee granules (instant)
12 tsp peppermint extract
Combine sugar and cocoa in a medium saucepan; stir well.
Add water; bring to boil, stirring constantly.
Gradually add milk, stirring well.
Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes or until mixture is thoroughly heated, stirring frequently.
Remove from heat; stir in peppermint.
Beat with a whisk until foamy; serve warm.
So, there is no need to head out for your seasonal coffee drink. You can make it yourself whenever you want. Enjoy!
