Fresh pasta: After a bit of a hiatus from more intensive cooking it was nice to make fresh fettuccine for my neighbours today.

After leaving each other several gifts at our doorsteps during this pandemic, our neighbours recently invited my flatmate and I to hang out at their place. Today, we got to reciprocate. It was so good to host in my own home after more than a year!

We enjoyed a leisurely afternoon of munching on a charcuterie board and playing board games. Then, I served up the pasta. Instead of a classic bolognese or white sauce, I opted for a deconstructed version of the one I often put inside my raviolis: roasted pumpkin purée with wild mushrooms, cream and lemon zest.

Following our meal, we spontaneously went out to a local ice cream parlor famous for a delicious assortment of flavours using kalabaw (water buffalo) milk.
