Chatting with veteran actor Leandro “Roy” Álvarez (1950-2014) in my classroom at the Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts (IARFA) administrative office of the Far Eastern University (FEU), in Manila.
I met Roy at the home of the environmentalist Odette Alcantara (1940-2009) in Blue Ridge, Quezón City; where we were all called to help Tita Odette organize the 2000 Earth Day celebrations. And have been friend with him ever since, if fact my ex asked him to be a ninong (godfather) in our wedding.
