Tbh,,,, I don't think Aaron dessner and folklore are the end all be all of Taylor like this post suggests. But that might also be because I am not into indie pop. I feel Taylor would be best suited with folk or a lot of the sounds on red. Also I feel like Taylor had such a nice progression from debut through 1989 of always changing a little. Then rep and lover were kind of off the wall but still fun. I was getting really worried about repetition. Then folklore evermore I feel like Taylor invented a new sound. Midnights combined that with jacks synths so even though it was new, it wasn't really. Now we have ttpd and it feels like midnights did. The same style of songwriting we have had over and over and the same type of production just a little different but becoming more and more a defined Taylor song everytime. I know women shouldn't have to recreate each other every album, but the art does feel stagnant. I love how she brought in Aaron, but having 2 producers (and mostly jack) do everything for you is how she makes one niche sound and stops pushing herself. Which I could go off about but i need to stop ranting. Overall though, very good post.
