I definitely can’t make those. I can’t even fight agito battles, I’m not high enough might. I’m gonna just keep beating the chimera to gather resources, and use all the leaves I get on rupees now that I got all the useful stuff. Focusing on double drops means a lot of leaves, and two seeds at a time to get the gold fafnirs to fully unbound.

It was OBNOXIOUS. Resource wise, the base 5* elemental was way, way more costly and devastating, and I’m still trying to recover. The five void dragons weren’t nearly as expensive to make, comparatively. Unfortunately all the 4* ones, maxed at level 50, with a matching element, were STILL weaker than the generic 5* weapons. It’s outrageous. And the update only seems to make it more confusing as a system, not simpler or less costly.

But man, the little slime statues were a stroke of luck. I had already gotten enough Void Seeds to get them all. Now I have an abundance, and I’m not sure if it makes sense to buy the Fafnirs. The Bronze seems useful since double XP, but 25% bonus to mana and rupees seems like ass, considering you really don’t get much of either in a single match.

It’s an incredibly low bar, but it’s really funny to me that the last two generations were almost entirely their main game.  Like, Gen 5 introduced Conquest, a new Mystery Dungeon, and I think something else.  Then Gen 6 didn’t really have anything until the very end with Super Mystery.  Gen 7 had exactly nothing.  Now Gen 8 is bringing back all sorts of classics, with a remake of the original Mystery Dungeon that’s better in every way, and now Pokemon Snap, which hasn’t existed since Gen 1.

But like...the last time we had a higher amount of spinoff games, it was Gen 5.  Between Gen 3 and Gen 5, we got a ton of really excellent spinoffs, but none stood out as inherently better.  Coliseum was great, but so was Emerald.  Explorers of Sky was fantastic, but so was platinum.  Gen 5′s main games were the first time I think the main games were outright better than the spinoffs.  But then we got nothing, and now they’re coming back when the main series is at its weakest point.  The main games suck, but these spinoffs are fantastic.  It’s just so funny.  And a little sad.  Never in my life did I feel like additional content for a mainline game would fill me with anger, while a Pokemon Snap sequel was produced that would fill me with more excitement.  We live in strange times, friends.

maybe it is a line of succession.... Ryza, older Ryza, and even older Ryza

It’s like a Yugioh card archetype, where it’s all the same being but getting progressively stronger over time, like the Gigagaiyou or whatever the lizard thing was called.

Shoutouts to @patchun for sharing this video with me.  Now you, too, know the secrets of manipulating space and time to force a Pokemon game to cooperate.

If they ever patch this, the game is officially unplayable from a competitive sense.
