i am not a whale so i can’t open his chest yet without spending a good amount of crystals to replenish action, but doing the math it looks like his treasure chest may only give you the equivalent of 50 shards for him. i don’t know. if anyone does have the ability, please reblog and let me know exactly how you obtain him or how many of his shards you end up with!!!!!!

Food Fantasy: Team Up Tips/Etiquette?

Man if only we could solo team ups am I right? Having to wait for another person to press start or prepare can be a pain, especially when the two of you don’t have the same steady connection to the internet or one of you get distracted by your actual environment. It’s also hard to actually talk to the person. Messages in the game aren’t great. (People use discord I guess? I should join one.) Can’t be helped. But hey! I’m here to give tips on other things. Well, really I’m going to give you tips on appropriate team composition and my principle regarding doing team ups.

Here we go!

 Requirements: Open at Level 30. 

(My) Principles to follow:

Look before you pick: Before I enter team ups I remove my favorite food souls in my personal info and put in some my strongest food souls if they aren’t there. I wouldn’t mind if other people did this. That way we both know each other’s limitations.

Understanding Team Composition: Continuing can differ depending on your level and your teammates level and food souls. Also fallen angels.Don’t be dumb guys, if your teammates dps/damage get the job done pretty fast you can probably remove that def and or healer food soul!

Helping others: This is relevant to Uke Mochi teamups and to some extent Aizen team ups. It’s not that I don’t like upper level people.Don’t feel unloved when I exit out people that have most achievements done + and are done with their daily chances. I typically like to help the people that are below level when I can but will stay if the person hasn’t finished their daily chances! 

Show signs that you’re alive: If you’re online show signs that you’re alive! If you’re the lead move around your food souls to show that you’re attentive! If someone is offline don’t get to mad to the point of blocking the person of course. They probably have real life going on it’s just a game.

Know when to give up: Tsuchigumo is hard on hard mode. Unless you and your teammate are both hella strong with good FA and/or probs above 65. If ya can’t do it give up and wait till you are stronger. No shame in disbanding after a couple goes with the teammate or you know it won’t work out.

turkey vs bamboo rice?

turkey.

almost any scenario i can think of, you'd rather use turkey. especially if you got any of his artifact done.

if it's wb, absolutely go turkey and full resolute (atk spd) fallen.

these are with no FA but turkey has artifact w/togis and both are married:

turkey out here powercreeping but we been know that's how these event units work :)

I have Boston and he fucking SUCKS. FIGHT ME ON THIS HES A B I T C H

i mean i have him at 3* and know people with him at 5*. he's beefy in the def department but his atk spd and slow animation really really hurt his viability in the long run.

tbh you're much better with 4* bamboo rice if you want a beefy frontline strength unit, and bamboo is easier to ascend anyway.

don't fall for the collector hype, boston is a bad unit gameplay wise currently, and that's that.

Best FoodFan Units to Invest In if F2P

i get this question a lot, like a lot a lot and it tends to spark debates that sometimes make feelings get hurt, so i’m just going to make a list and post it on tumblr for those of you who are wondering which units are worth investing in (who should not get chucked into the fusion blender).

ALSO, EVERY UR UNIT NOT B-52/FOIE GRAS/PEKING DUCK IS A F2P TRAP!!!! 

i know it hurts to hear, because it hurts me too having pulled for some of them, but what i mean by this is: they are not worth investing in long-term because they will require money and can only carry you so long in the game before your SR units and R units are better because of the ascention/level cap. you might be able to push a strength UR to 15k with a fully optimized fallen (linked or uke mochi E/tsuchi +10 with all gold stats), but that’s it.

stun: stops enemy movement

silence: stops energy skills.

charm: turns enemies against each other

buffs: bonuses added to friendly units

debuffs: negates bonuses added to enemy units

Tom Yum: self-healing R defense unit, farmable shards, easy to ascend to 5* quickly, early game savior who wont fall off.

Milk: R unit easy to ascend to 5* quickly early game, link skill to btea, AOE heals.

Miso Soup: R unit easy to ascend to 5* quickly early game, support/magic hybrid who drains hp, links with sanma so valuable for guild/world bosses.

Black Tea: easiest SR to 5* in game, good stats and skill link, one of the better magic SR units.

Sanma: doesn’t need to ascend to do his job busting tanks/chests, flat damage, decent unit just kind of a specialist, world boss potential.

Sweet Tofu: worth if you fuse a lot as his shards are reliably common in fusion, good healer, can replace 5* milk at 3*.

Moon Cake: farmable as heck, great skills, basically in every catacombs/world boss guide because of her AOE kill and debuffs, just a really dang good strength unit.

Vodka: best magic SR in game, farmable shards, stun/silence valuable in any situation, links with B-52.

Yuxiang: okay unit but unremarkable other than being farmable and linked to peking, but those two alone make her worth it if you run him.

B-52: every F2Ps best UR friend, powerful and only farmable UR unit to date, guild/world boss champ.

Foie Gras: was given to us free if you did her quests, charm, easy to fuse for shards and easier UR to pull so most people who have summoned a lot already have her at 1*. 

Peking Duck: the attack spam god, silence, easy to fuse for shards and easier UR to pull so most people who have summoned a lot already have him, worth fusing for if you continue to not summon him.

EDIT: bamboo rice has been added ot this list due to now being as common as foie gras and peking duck in shard fusion.

anyone not these units, ymmv but these units are likely better, especially if you have no ascensions on the unit in question. and this post isn’t taking into account team comp, these are just common units worth investing in if you don’t plan on paying money to play food fantasy.

hihi! I was wondering if you have any advice for sakurajima’s moon terrace lvls (and beyond.) if possible, specifically for dealing with 21-2 and similar checkpoint (achievement) lvls. are there any specific fs/link ups I should be using? I hope this isn’t asking for too much and if it is I’d be fine with just general advice for further levels! thank you advance! <3

cc is your best friend in sakurajima, so pull out all your biftys, vodkas, pekings, and foies for charm/stun/silence. tom yum will be important as a def unit bc of his self-heals taking pressure off your healer. saku is gonna try and hit you fast and hard. if he dies, try seasoning up his skills (at least 17) and making sure he has an HP stacked fallen. if for some wild reason you have a 3* gyoza, he could work but who has that lol. no idea where escargot needs to be to make this work, or what strain he put son your healer to compensate, only tom yum.

dropping back down to basic seasoning talent (yeah the first one) along with divine seasoning or restore energy talent will help if your healer can’t heal him fast enough, or resetting to get foie to charm (esp with pranja).

i hit a wall with milk+bt late saku and switched to sweet tofu, so keep in mind you might need a better healer if you want to finish it underleveled. i believe you can if you are overleveled tho keep milk+btea provided they are 5* and have decent fallens/skill level,

that’s my suggestions for sakurajima.

keep in mind, while strength units will probably get backburnered (as well as magic units that function like strength units (cassata, cornbread), they will be the stars in palata, where you need to destroy tanky things like garuda and the hellish chests.

for chests specifically, i run 2* boston lobster, 3* sanma, 2* pizza, 5* mooncake and 5* red wine with full max tree super dark cuisine and restore energy to give you an idea of the chest in palata. oof.

Do you personally season every dish you make?

i’ve been trying to find the guide that tells you not to season certain dishes because you end up min/maxing them wrong, and for the love of me cannot find it. but in the wiki it says: 

Note that for Texture and Aroma dishes, seasoning does not increase their main stat, so it is recommended to not use seasoning at all

so long story short, no i do not. and in fact, have only seasoned very specific dishes i’m selling in my restaurant. i’ll edit if i find that restaurant guide.

Who or what exactly are "whales"?

“whaling” is when you spend a lot of money (much more than reasonable) on a game usually with the intentions of obtaining event exclusive units. its like p2p (pay to play) but on steroids, because they have a debatably unfair advantage in the game over others due to the excessive amounts of money they have spent.

an example of a person very clearly whaling would be a 5* toso, as there is no way anyone f2p (free to play, spending litte or no money on the game) could have possibly obtained her that many times in the time of the event. 

generally its well into hundreds before you are considered a “whale”, otherwise you’re just p2p. hope that helps clear things up! ヾ(｡ꏿ﹏ꏿ)ﾉﾞ
