[FF] Truth or Dare? Ch. 15
I swallowed nervously. He can't do this to me. He's the dude. He should decide if it was a date or not...but...sigh.
"I-is it?" I fiddled with my napkin and looked at his eyebrows so I didn't have to look at his eyes. Man, them eyebrows.
"Would it be weird...?" Crap. How do I respond to this?
"I don't...I mean, is it for you?" We stared at each other awkwardly in silence. The two of us never mentioned anything about dating before to each other, nevertheless how we felt, if he felt anything at all. My mind was racing at all the possibilities...and how everything could go wrong...but how everything could go right. I let out a low mumble, "I mean, it wouldn't be for me..."
"Me...either..." I let my eyes finally look at his face and saw he was smiling at me, scratching his head. Oh. My. God.
--
"Do you think they're together yet?!" Emily anxiously stared across the street at the kogi restaurant. Just then, Ma Ri and Yoon Ji walked into the small ice cream shop where Emily and Jongin were sharing a large sundae.
"Oh, eonnie...what're you doing here?" Yoon Ji gave Emily a sickeningly sweet smile, taking the seat next to a confused Jongin. Ma Ri slid in next to Emily.
"Ah, Jongin-oppa..." Ma Ri batted her eyelashes, shyly tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Why are you with our eonnie?"
Emily rolled her eyes, turning her attention back to the kogi restaurant.
"It's Kai, and we're here...on a date" He looked at Emily, her eyes fixed on the window.
"Mhmm...we're on a date," She said, absentmindedly. She gave up on trying to be nice to the girls, or even being mean. She just did as she pleased.
"What...is that true, Jo- Kai-oppa?" Ma Ri looked at Jongin with wide eyes, nudging Yoon Ji with her elbow.
"You can't date eonnie..." Yoon Ji glared at Emily, who sighed and looked back at her.
"You don't have to pretend to be all nice and sweet; we all see right through you two." Emily took a bite of the melting ice cream, resting her elbows calmly on the table in front of her.
"I don't know what you're talking about, eonnie." Ma Ri shot daggers at Emily with her eyes.
"Be careful, too much ice cream can make you gain weight...we can't have that in our group." Yoon Ji smirked, looking at Jongin through the corner of her eye.
Emily eyed the unfinished ice cream sadly, glancing up at Jongin and pouted. "Will you buy me ice cream later?" He chuckled and nodded, causing her to beam in happiness. They ignored the other two girls, leaving the shop, and causing their jaws to drop. They were never rejected.
--
"So...since this is a date...you're paying, right?" I blinked at him a few times, smiling sweetly. Muahaha.
"Come on, what happened to women being all independent these days?" He teased, taking a sip of his water. I, of course, had raspberry iced tea. Who cares if the flavor is partially thanks to beaver anus? Not this girl! "You're a strange one, Summer."
"I am not!" I glared at him, mumbling under my breath. "How the hell do you freaking roll like a buffalo anyways..."
"What?"
"Nothing~"
We continued the night, enjoying our delicious meat and not having a care in the world. It was surprisingly a lot less nerve-racking than I thought it would be...I was on a date with Kris.
--
"Aish, I can't see in there..." Emily craned her neck up to the high window, hoping to catch a glimpse of Eomma and her future father-in-law. "Jongin-ah~"
"W-what?" He looked up from his phone to see Emily grinning evilly. He had to admit; her weird made her strangely...attractive. Not that he'd admit it.
"Can you give me a lift? Please~?" He eyed her strangely.
"And why should I do that...?"
"So I can spy on my eomma~" She looked at him innocently, hands behind her back.
"But-"
"Shh. Don't speak. Just do." She raised a finger to his lips, motioning to the window. He rolled his eyes, lacing his fingers together and bending down so she could step up. "Be happy I decided not to wear a skirt today~"
She stepped up, grabbing his shoulders for support, and peered inside at Summer. She was smiling and seemed to be enjoying herself.
--
"That's not fair! I wanted that one..." I glared at the chicken halfway in his mouth. "I ordered chicken for meeee...."
"I'm paying!" He munched on the chicken happily, but something caught his eye from the window. "Hey...is that...nevermind."
"Huh?" I turned to look, but he grabbed my face. Damn his stupid long arms and giant hands and dumb everything. I felt my face burning, but hopefully he couldn't. I had food in my mouth, so I probably looked dumber than him, and that was saying something.
He changed the subject, and we finally finished. I rubbed my bulging stomach in satisfaction while he got up to pay the bill.
"Ok, let's go~" He held his hand out for me, leading me out of restaurant. I was about to let go, but he intertwined his fingers through mine, avoiding my gaze and looking straight ahead.
--
"AH. THEY'RE COMING! QUICK; HIDE ME!" Emily let go of the window, losing her balance and tumbling onto Jongin. "EEEEEH."
Jongin covered her mouth with his hand and pulled her up, leading them into a side alley covered in shadows. "Shhhh..."
"Mmffphmm" Emily grabbed onto Jongin's back, hoping Summer wouldn't see her.
"Oh, please. How would she even reach that window? She isn't that tall." I laughed at what Kris had told me. Emily. In a window. HA.
"She was with Jongin! He could've like..helped her...I don't know..."
"You're crazy." We walked past a dark alley, and I could've sworn I saw eyes watching me from inside. Nah, I won't mention it.
"Do you want ice cream? There's a shop across the street...or, you know, we could have something else for dessert..."
"Excuse me?" I stared at him in disbelief. I mean, not that I'd mind, but...still. What.
"Hey hey hey, get your mind out of the gutter!" His cheeks flushed and his grip on my hand tightened, pulling me behind him. I caught up to him, happily poking fun at him the whole way home.
The twenty minute walk back was twenty minutes too short. I didn't want the night to end yet, but I knew we would both be super busy the next day. Stupid hallway; be longer...
"Well...thanks for tonight...I guess..." I felt awkward.
"Thank your 'daughter', eh." We smiled at each other, and I stalled by fiddling around with my keys. "Hey, Summer..."
"Wha-" I was interrupted by a soft sensation on my lips. It was warm, and sweet, and far too short. "...oh."
"Ahem...well...goodnight!" He turned around quickly as I stood there, a little weak in the knees.
--
"Hey, Emily. You can let go now..." Emily was still clinging onto Jongin, trying to keep herself from bursting. He looked down at her head, unable to see her face. She stared at her phone as it illuminated the dark alley, smiling at the short text she received from Summer.
"HE KISSED ME."
