one thing that I never see addressed but that I consider pretty basic internet/life etiquette is this:
do not go out of your way to add negativity to a positive message
I'm saying that because I see it more and more. posts like "my dad was so helpful when my depressive episode got bad" get dozens of comments that say "lmao mine just make it worse" or "did you mean: told me I was lazy and bad". in a lot of pride videos where the creators are trying to give a message of hope to their young queer viewers, the top comments are "no we can't be hopeful bc of x".
listen, if you want to make a vent post, or to make a post about a problem you've faced / see becoming more and more recurrent, you are more than welcome to. but do not use someone's else attempt to bring joy and hope into the world to do so. imagine, to use my second example again, being a queer person inspired by a pride vid, scrolling to the comments to see others expressing their move, and immediately seeing those types of negative comments. let me tell you from experience: it crushes the nice feelings you got from that post/video.
please be mindful of where and when you express very negative/pessimistic sentiments. there are appropriate places and times for it, and that's not in someone's happy place.
y’all can’t do lindsey like this please i’m begging
Me: screenshots a post I saw and posts it on my own blog, tagging it properly, then adding commentary; doesn't tag the op in order to not draw them into discourse or arguments they may not want to have; expressed my own gotdamn opinion on my own blog.
Ya'll: um,,, sweaty,,, that's rude? Let me @ the person you screenshotted even though I had my reasons not to?? Let me shit on you for ""hating"" on people and call you a coward, even though you were actually trying to not bother the op and are merely expressing your opinions on a subject on your own blog :)) lol checkmate antis

The "no text" repeat. Just AU.
hi please reblog polls you like so that others can see them instead of relying on first seed/initial exposure—this goes for all content on this site!!!
