As your average queer girl-ish, i know that look. you know, the look? Like, it's when two close friends are doing something together and one is looking at the other- a. as if they just hung the stars in the sky; b. much more intensely than the situation warrants; c. with an amount of affection that wouldn't even be reasonable for a couple in that context- etc! And that look (tm) is maybe one of the cornerstones of this fuckass duo, no? Seb is guilty as sin and kimi would be just as known for it if he took off his shades more often, and even so, his fondness spills out anyway, you can just feel it. SO, my experience being in love with close friends,,,even untill a few months ago, when i snapped out of it, i was in love with my best friend (who is dating a man as of now lmao) is why i'm so weird about simi, ain't it? WRONG, it's sadder.
Stability. That is what gets me, that over the years, they never turned against each other. In the F1 fandom we sure do love a toxic ship, but what about what might be THE healthiest one of all? The passage of time takes so much from us, takes so much from me, and when i reach into the past i find that i've never managed to find someone to play the role of the kimi to my seb, and i don't just mean that all my friends also can't keep their mouths shut if their lives depended on it. My longest friendship is with the person that got me into F1- and we've only been friends since 2019. I would trade so much just to have someone that wants to be attached at the hip and telling others about how happy they are around me even after years and years of knowing each other- i often find that the more someone knows me, the less they love me. Seb and Kimi have that shit on lock, they were each other's number one fans. These guys absolutely keep in touch and we will absolutely never know because they've run out of even semi normal things to say about it, like, a decade ago, and now they can actually get away from our (yes, our, we're lowk guilty here!) prying eyes,,,,,i don't entertain the idea that they aren't friends anymore because if that can be true about them, it can be true about anyone. this got wayyy off track,,,hehe, track. I love f1
Something about how seb was a known teammate killer (just look at mark webber!) but was eager and happy to help kimi when he could and to defend him from the press and make the team give him his dues and all that while falling to get the championship for ferrari, something that would have meant the world to him because of his entire heart braking thing with michael schumacher....can any of us say that we have someone who defends and praises us as much as seb does those things for kimi?
And kimi, who everyone knows as quiet and unemotional, shit, that was how i was introduced to him! his dry, short answers made me laugh without understanding any of the context, and his careless attitude serves as a goal to attain because sometimes you just gotta walk away and do some fun shit when you fail instead of rotting about it. "iceman" kimi genuinely was incapable of shutting up about seb and about how he really liked working with him and it was "nice" and "perfect" and JUST TAKE ME OUT BACK AND SHOOT ME IN THE HEAD.
