Mayor Attorney 3 and 4
Are they open about their relationship? How do they feel about public displays of affection?
I always imagine DA and Damien getting together after graduating university and working on their careers (because they spend university being mutually pining idiots that donât want to make the first move) and because of the nature of their career paths they canât be open about their relationship. DA especially never wants to seem like theyâre earning their positions because of Damien, even though he wouldnât use his position that way they donât want to give tabloids any chance to think that he would. Both of them also want to keep their private life private, even if there wasnât risk of scandal, so they would avoid PDA in general. If theyâre drinking Damien is prone to being touchy, but heâs like that with his friends too so it isnât unusual. In private they canât keep their hands off of each other though, even if itâs just sitting close enough on the couch while reading at the end of the day for their legs to touch.
First impression of each other? Was it love at first sight?
I generally think of Damien as demiromantic, so he wouldnât say love at first sight, but they definitely hit it off quickly when he met the DA in university. I think they end up sitting next to each other in a class and he admires how willing they are to speak their mind, even if it disagrees with a classmate or professor, and how they always have sources to cite for their thoughts. So he properly introduces himself after the class ends, and theyâre fast friends right away. On the DAâs end (at least for my DA) they are definitely smitten right off the bat- I mean, look at the man- but outside of physical attraction they consider him a good friend at first. But the more time they spend together, the more both Damien and the DA realize that they donât want to just be friends but they donât want to mess up their friendship so they suffer in mutual attraction for a long time until one of them is forced to make a move.
Captaineer 3 and 4
Are they open about their relationship? How do they feel about public displays of affection?
Again because they work together and are both in leadership positions, they donât want to be too romantic with each other on the ship. I think Captain may even become unintentionally distant with Engineer during work because they so badly want to avoid favoring him that it circles around to almost poor treatment. Luckily, after dealing with a very upset Engineer, they are able to find a better balance with how they interact during work. During off hours, Engineer is very clingy. Captain doesnât stop it, but wonât initiate it. They donât hide their relationship and will confirm it if asked by anyone on the crew, but they also arenât trying to get the whole ship involved in their business. Whenever someone first is brave enough to ask them or Mark, there is soon money changing hands among the rest of the crew regarding their bets on if Engineer is just like that or if he and Captain were actually together.

I think their relationship is one of mutual respect/adoration that eventually grows into more. Engineer is probably the one who breaks first, because Captain doesnât want to risk that they misread his vibe. They really donât like the idea that Engineer would feel pressured to accept their feelings just because theyâre the captain and he feels like he has to say yes to them, and it may even take some convincing on Engineerâs end after his confession that they can work out a way to have a relationship without making it a problem for the running of the ship.
