Tristan is more the funny uncle type who is unemployed but somehow always has new stuff and money to give away and ends up in Bielefeld at 4am for unknown reasons
I don’t expect neither Tristan and Isolde to be good parents to be honest and thats just based on the fact that in one version they named their kids just after themselves lol
But on a serious note spoken; I feel like if the Love Potion would still be in work when they got kids I wonder how that would affect parenthood. Would they be really annoying overbearing parents as they are a product of the love potion or are they still too focused on each other?
In one version (iirc it was Eilhart or Beroul) Husdent was drinking the love potion along side which made him even more attached to Tristan and Isolde yet Tristan had no issues proposing several times to kill the dog out of the „he could be danger to us“ mindset. You know? Actual thinkpiece…
But the Love Potion also in some versions has a time limit. FGO handled it with a time limit iirc. Yet still I guess Tristan has too many ongoing issues to be an actual devoted parent. That was just some thought I had, in the end rather pointless because the conclusion stays the same, haha.
In one Version Tristan also has a son named Ysaÿe and iirc he also goes on a Quest for Fairy King Oberon. But there isn’t much talk about his relationship to his father either.
Edit: If you think about it, if it wasn’t for the Love Potion, he would probably have ended up exactly like King Marke just with more wit and skills lol (Gottfried Version)
