Rarely ever look in the big FHR discord but I read everything in the main channel over the last 12hrs or so and have seen enough screenshots of other conversations to get an idea of how rotten parts of the fandom are.
I’m a bit of an outsider but I still want to make it clear to any FHR people who follow me that the examples I’ve recently seen of some of the conversations going on in that server apparently unchecked, particularly involving racism and transphobia, are completely unacceptable.
What happened with the BLM donation link being spoilered for being “too political”, and the people who called out this behaviour being ignored by mods and labelled by others as troublemakers, was utterly wrong.
BLM is not “politics”. A donation link is not something to be censored/spoilered. People who call this out aren’t troublemakers and shouldn’t be ignored or told to drop the subject by mods. I’m also astounded to find out that some people who called out antisemitism and racism in the past were banned for it.
Might keep making content with my own sidestep for myself and talk to my small group of friends about the game but I’m not interacting with the wider fandom because I can see now that there is just so much rot.
