I am trying so desperately to pull myself out from the hole that is smothering me, and thank you Cam, for giving me a reason to get completely, head over heels sappy about my friends.

I START WITH YOU.

Cam – I don’t understand how someone functions without a Cam in their lives. Someone to bond with over talented musical theater people and understand the utterly overwhelming presence of Stark Sands. Someone to leave you encouraging notes and devastatingly beautiful streams of consciousness just when you need them most. Someone who sees the wonder in everyday life and the gorgeousness of cinema and television and is able to articulate it. An all-around astounding soul.

Jane – Jane isn’t on Tumblr much anymore, but she is still and forever the Finny D to my Pucky Puck, despite the sad circumstances around those nicknames now. We recently had our five-year friend-iversary (!) of when we met for the first time in New York while seeing Bye Bye Birdie, and I rejected the opportunity to take a photo with Matt Doyle. :) She is one of my longest online-turned-real-life friends, and I know I can count on her to be there no matter what. She is one of the nicest and sweetest people you could ever hope to meet, and her smile will make you feel like the sun is shining just for you.

Jaymee – She is the most wonderfully, ridiculously smart person I know. She is jaded and makes fun of Glee and sad musicals, but she somehow appreciates my incredible sentimentality in both of those regards. Her opinions are the best opinions, and I live in awe of her ability to talk about them. We have bonded over JGJ’s boner and that is a life-long bonding experience, let me tell you. On Oct. 5, 2013, I got to hang out with her for the first time in persona, a meeting six years in the making. And I can’t wait until Feb. 21, when we get to repeat that epic union. And I will probably cry a lot more.

Christine – I am currently very angry with Christine because she made me fall head over heels for both Pippin and Matthew James Thomas in the span of like two weeks. Like I needed new obsessions. But despite the anger, I am also irrevocably thankful to have someone bringing new loves into my life. Like tonight, it was as if she psychically knew I needed happy pictures of MJT and Porridge. And then there’s her cat pictures. I can’t stress this enough. The cat pictures she brings into my life are NECESSARY. I am constantly waiting for the stars to align and make us in the city at the same time. (It’s never often enough for me.)

Kayla – Kayla is the Johnny to my Tunny (my sidebar is very accurate). I live in a constant state of wanting to run into a hug with her and never letting go. I don’t like being hugged or touched much as a general rule, but she gives excellent hugs. And beyond the obvious pain we cause each other over our Idiot boys and boy bands and hot dads and sons, I really consider her to be one of my best friends. There is an age gap that could be awkward with other people, but she’s mature beyond her years and I’m an immature little shit. She’s talented as fuck and continues to blow my mind with her art and digital stuff. I am literally unsure of how I existed before I met her.

Oh wow, I am suddenly EVEN MORE emotional because it's now Dec. 30, and today is me and Jane's friend-iversary.

We met in person four years ago today at Bye Bye Birdie. So coincidentally it's also my "embarrass myself in front of Matt Doyle"-iversary.

I LOVE MY FRIENDS. AND I'M SORRY I DON'T REMEMBER ANYONE ELSE'S FRIEND-IVERSARIES. I HAVE A BAD MEMORY. BUT KNOW THAT I LIVE AND BREATHE FOR YOU. AND FOR THOSE OF YOU I HAVEN'T MET YET. DON'T WORRY OUR COMING TOGETHER IS IN THE STARS. I KNOW IT.
