"i want to make you the happiest girl in the world." ♥
at kawachi fujien, takeshi promises nagi this; the hundreds of sweet wisterias bearing witness to his oath.
her mouth remains agape, lips trembling to keep still while she tries to grasp his confession, his love― everything. as if it was a paper flittering in the wind, out of reach. he wasn’t though, never was. takeshi, a constant sunshower, gifting her a brilliance that spills directly into her heart; washing away the sorrow, bit by bit, allowing clarity to shine through. at her side, he remains: hand held out for her and wearing a grin.
takeshi’s given her kindness, warmth, tender devotion, and now he’s made it his personal mission to ensure her happiness. he is everything she’s ever wanted and he’s offering it to her without asking for anything in return, too generous and overflowing with love. the realization flowers emotions she’s long buried, turning her vision a purple, misty blur.
“you already do.” nagi manages to say, nearly choking on her words and the saccharine air. heart dew glistens in the shimmering daylight but her smile is brighter, the brightest it’s ever been. “you’ve made me so, so happy takeshi I… sometimes I wonder if I deserve this .. you.” she’s asked herself this more than a mere ‘sometimes’ embodied― it’s a matter of will and when the calloused sword hand lets go.
the season of spring has long arrived and finally, for her as well; the freezing haze is swept by a tepid breeze, warming up cold fingers and lotus veins bloom, spreading springtime everywhere. under the hanging, vivid petals, nagi gathers her courage to tell him where her heart lies as well: with him.
“I love you takeshi, I want you to stay by my side for the rest of our lives.” she clasps his left hand with hers, placing a silver band on his ring finger.
“please marry me.” nagi proposes to the man she loves ardently, dearly. her laughter and kisses are cloying against takeshi’s tear-stained face, somehow sweeter than the scent of a thousand wisterias.
today, she’s the happiest girl in the world.
