We stood on the shore of Loch Ness for at least five minutes, pledging our belief, but the monster never showed up. My theory is that the day was just too bright and cheery.

With a flight to catch from Inverness to Belfast, we couldn't tarry. Maybe next time ...

This loch is 23 miles long, a mile wide and up to 755 feet deep, which is more than enough elbow room for a legend.

Our hotel in Belfast is directly across the street from the famous Fibber Magee pub, which we just may have to visit.
