Wing & A Prayer Farm started out in 2001 with a handful of chickens, 3 kids and a mom keen on learning about raising a few sheep. Seventeen years later, this mom’s got 170 mouths to feed on the farm and the youngest of the three kids home between academic semesters to help out part-time. Two #FarmHers raising #fiberflocks for #localwool. * * * This summer we’ll have part-time help from our teen-#FarmHer, Maggie, when she gets out of school. The three of us have big hopes and plans for our summer farm to-do list. We keep running into hard-working, intelligent, professionals throughout this industry, from farmers to designers, business-people & poets, Mill-workers, store owners, lawyers, physicians, writers, engineers and more. We’re fortunate to run into so many inspiring women in agriculture wherever we turn. Our friends Jeri @flyingfibersjeri & Irina @flyingfibers are two such inspiring women. Mother and daughter, like Char & me, raising flocks and running a business, expertly, and leading in their community. Jeri sent us these exactly perfect @farmher1 t-shirts which say ‘On a Wing & A Prayer’ as a surprise gift. We were thrilled when we opened the package tonight. It’d been an especially intense weekend for Char with the farm and I had gone away to teach in New Hampshire. It was good to be back tonight, working together and especially fun to have matching outfits.👕👕 👩🌾 👩🌾 A little nod to @farmher1 : FarmHer connects, inspires, and empowers women in agriculture. Whether it be online, on the farm, or at an event, FarmHer brings these women together to build a better understanding of how their lifestyles improve the world around them.
