#Fiberurary Day 14 Catchup Love! Of course I had to jump on the copycat train and make a heart with my yarn! Happy Valentine's day one day late, y'all!
#Fiberurary Day 13 Catchup Knitfluencer I love Words cannot express how much I enjoy @dunderknit. She's fabulous, and when I grow up I wanna be Caroline. So of course I have to post my mustard gold herringbone cowl project today in honor of her and her love of all things gold.
#Fiberurary Day 12 Catchup Favorite Color The older I get, the less I know about the things I like. I like to remind people that I "hate everything" because it feels like such a commitment to like things! My favorite color used to be green, but now I think I shift between teal, mustard, and gray. Gray is a color! Every time I feel like I decide on a color I don't like, I see it used in some amazing, magical way. So today my favorite color is gray, but tomorrow? Who knows?! Let's just split the difference and call it gray/creams.
#Fiberurary Day 11 Catchup Fingering or Bulky, or...? There's a special place in my heart for bulky and chunky yarn, that's for sure, if that wasn't clear from the kitten photo I posted for day 8! Bulky and chunky weights always look so dreamy, I have a hard time passing up a squishy project! You can tell by these needle tips that the color plating has seen plenty of use! No squishy project neglect in this stash!
#Fiberurary Day 10 Catchup Coffee or Tea? Ok, this one is hard. I absolutely love both. There's not a day that goes by in which I don't drink both, really. In the morning I have a pour over or french press, and at night I drink chamomile.... don't make me choose! 😂
#Fiberurary Day 9 Catchup 9th on the Rav Queue. Oh lord. I try to keep my queue neat and tidy, so I must confess I only have 5 projects on my plate right now! How about I show you my next one up on my queue instead? Bahaha. This one. Silverleaf by @malihadesigns will be a project I make for my mom for Mother's Day, if I can manage to keep my big mouth shut! As I mentioned in a previous post, a recent video from Fruity Knitting inspired my mom to get out her needles again, and she told me she thought she'd like to make a shawl for herself. Well, I'm a big dumb idiot because I got immediately excited and texted her back a million links for ravelry patterns and SILVERLEAF and said it was next in my queue. She loved the pattern and said she'd like to make it. I'm a dummy. I can't help it. I didn't tell her that it was for her but I was just so excited that my mom would get back into knitting again and I couldn't help myself. .... I know. I brought this on myself.
#Fiberurary Day 8 Catchup Knit or Crochet? Definitely knit. I can do both, but I prefer to knit. And I'm slowly coming to the realization that the only photos I have of my finished objects are not really photos OF finished objects but of animals ON finished objects. Like this photo. When I volunteered regularly, I used to make a lot of soft items to bring to animal rescue portrait sessions. Soft things usually put shelter animals at ease, and animals on knits just always makes my heart melt. Don't get used to cuddly animal photos here all the time, though! I solemnly swear I will purpose more to take photos of finished objects without animals obstructing the view at least sometimes! This shot also has made it's way onto several project bags, pillows, and kit totes, so I don't feel too bad in sharing it here, anyways. =P
#Fiberurary Day 7 Catchup Throwback Project My throwback project definitely would have to be a photo of my own cat, since I posted an adoption portrait on my knitting for day 6. This project is a little tube sweater, made for my cat as seen here, pouting while wearing it. He hates sweaters and plays dead so it serves me right to even try to put him in a handknit. I didn't have a pattern for this so it's kind of janky, but this sweater found a different, more willing wearer on a puppy at the rescue. Harumph.
