so i'm at this party, right, and it's a really good party, like one of the best parties i've ever been to, and there are SO many goodies and tasty things to eat there, and they've got like actual professional chefs giving away cakes and stuff for FREE at this party. and i'm really enjoying myself.
but also i've been at this party a pretty good while now, like longer than i normally stay at parties. so i've eaten a LOT of the different cakes.
and i look around me, and i'm like awww man, i've already eaten all the carrot cake they have at this party, and none of them even had cream cheese frosting. and i'm really, REALLY craving carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.
so i go looking again to see if there's any carrot cake with cream cheese frosting at this party that i might have missed. but all i can find is either red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, or zucchini cake, and sometimes even zucchini cake with cream cheese frosting, and those are pretty good but they're not carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, which is what i'm craving.
and a couple of times i come across some stuff that's labeled "carrot cake with cream cheese frosting". but it's like. shredded carrots stuck together with eggs and fried in a pan, with plain cream cheese smeared on top. which is a veggie fritter, not a carrot cake, and definitely not what i want, because yeah, it's carrots in a cake form and there's cream cheese, i GUESS, but that's not what carrot cake with cream cheese frosting should taste like, in my humble opinion.
and i'm not saying that carrot fritters are BAD, necessarily, but it's not really what i want from carrots, y'know?
and whenever i think of telling somebody "yeah, i'm really craving carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, do you know anybody who makes that?" i remember that the internet is all up in arms about cream cheese frosting because according to them cream cheese frosting is disgusting and wrong and no one should ever eat it ever because you should never put CHEESE on a DESSERT!
and most of my friends didn't actually come to this party, and the ones i have who ARE at the party either don't like carrot cake or already recommended me all the carrot cakes, so i've already tried them. and they STILL didn't have cream cheese frosting.
so i'm pretty resigned to, okay, fine, i guess i'll have to bake my own carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, if i really want some at this party. but it takes a lot of ingredients and a long time to make carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, so i haven't done it yet, even though i'm DYING for some carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.
(also there aren't really any recipes for carrot cake out there, so i'm really scared i'm gonna burn it or make it too eggy or ruin it.)
so instead i wander around the party and nibble at the red velvet cakes and the zucchini cakes and even the carrot fritters, sometimes, because i'm starting to get pretty hungry.
and then i find out that there's an annual charity bake sale, and some of the people there this year are selling custom cakes! so maybe i can order a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting!
except i go to the cake section at the bake sale, and literally every baker selling cake has a sign that says: NO CREAM CHEESE FROSTING
so i could still buy some carrot cake, because like i said, i've eaten all the carrot cake that's already available at the party, and it would be nice to have some more carrot cake. but i can't get carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, because nobody is willing to make cream cheese frosting.
and like. i have been burned before by sinking my teeth into a big bite of something labeled "carrot cake" that turned out to be a veggie fritter. so what if i order a carrot cake from this bakery, and they give me a veggie fritter? and it would feel very rude to complain about getting a veggie fritter, because it's a CHARITY bake sale and the money isn't even GOING to the baker, it's going to the CHARITY.
do i order the carrot cake anyway? can i even AFFORD to buy a carrot cake at the charity bake sale? is it worth it if?
and the worst part is. even if i DO buy the carrot cake at the charity bake sale.......
I STILL WON'T HAVE SATIATED MY CRAVING, BECAUSE NOBODY'S MAKING CREAM CHEESE FROSTING.
