mine but here's the SOURCE anyway. Day 11: Tombstones

I was so excited to see this prompt because this is a head canon I've wanted to illustrate for a long time.  In my own universe, Braeda's family moves from the farmland into south Central City, in an area referred to as Tin Town, because of two aluminum plants that sprung up during their industrial revolution.  Braeda's grandparents are just starting out there, his grandfather working at one of the plants while his grandmother tends to the first of hopefully many children.  Unfortunately, his grandfather dies in an accident at the plant, and his mother is the only child his grandmother ever bears.  Braeda's mother goes on to conceive him when she is only 13, after lying about her age to a traveling salesman who promised to take her away from Tin Town and show her the world.  At 14 she delivers him, names him Heymans, after his father's last name, and his grandmother raises him until he is 5 years old (and continues to raise her own daughter).  Tin Town makes the air really bad, and his grandmother dies early from a lung infection.  She is only 39 at the time of her death.  His mother catches the same lung problems after Braeda goes on to the military academy, and dies even younger at 36.  He's never met his father.  This tomb at the back of the church he worshiped in as a child contains the whole of his family.
