Analogical Vampire AU idea
I’ll never get around to writing this, I don’t think I can pull off a good Vampire story so, enjoy? Sanders Sides vampire au!
Patton and Logan are friends and they have been for, gosh, ever! They were the absolute best of friends! Which is why, although it was late, They were making their way home from the convenience store with popcorn and snacks for a late night movie marathon!
Patton always got jumpy in this part of town, though. They were adults! They shared an apartment! (Life is expensive...) and they wanted to eat sour patch kids at 1am! But... the lights were dim and every noise could be something or someone and Patton couldn’t help but get a little jumpy. Even Logan was nervous, but he kept his cool for Patton’s sake. Of course, when that one crash actually turned out to be something, Patton would never walk around this late ever again.
Patton panicked as the mugger smirked and grew closer, and Logan just offered all his cards and cash for their safety. If you asked them what happened that night, they’d both tell you the same story.
The man suddenly launched across the street and skid across the ground before running away at an impossible speed.
“Are you idiots?!” They turned to their rescuer who scowled, baring his teeth angrily. “What morons walk this late at night with no protection?!” “I have pepper spray and--” Logan reached for his pocket before the stranger was suddenly in his face, grabbing his wrist as he froze in place. “Pepper spray against us won’t work.” He let go and took a step back. “Head home quickly before he tries again. Leave this to the professionals.” And that was how they met... they weren’t quite sure but... “He had fangs! Like a vampire!” Patton whispered in shock, turning to Logan. “Were we attacked and then saved by two vampires?” “That is completely asinine, Patton.” Come two years later, Patton and Logan had learned everything they could on their own about how to defend themselves from vampires, protecting everyone they could at the slow outbreak their small town seemed to be suffering from. They went out some nights and did patrols, making it their mission to protect others from what they could. They even ran into him a few times, though he always rolled his eyes and ran off before Patton could say anything to him. One night, they came across a particular nuisance they couldn’t seem to catch before suddenly Patton found himself frozen in place with fear. Logan had been disarmed and was currently in the arms of their current target, hands trying and failing to pull away the arm that held him in place. The vampire was chuckling, openly mocking Patton to try and stop him before he met Logan’s neck while the other fussed and failed to break free. Then he appeared, slamming into both of them. Logan fell onto grass and groaned while the two fought. Patton ran over and grabbed Logan, turning and finding their target running off with a limp and majorly hurt, the other standing there and watching him run before slowly turning and facing them. “Two years. Two years and you’d think you humans would learn something by now.” He took a few angered steps forward and Patton pulled Logan to his feet. “I told you, leave this to the professionals. Yes, you took out a few, good for you.” He gave a mocking clap to the two ‘hunters’. “You made it this far but you’re not good enough for this. You have no idea what you’re up against.” “Then tell us.” Logan took a step forward, heart racing from what had just occurred but too stubborn to back down. “You’re a vampire that kills other vampires? Why? What are you fighting? What’s going on in this town?”
The vampire sighed and ran a hand over his face and through his hair. “You want to know? Fine! I’ll tell you!” He was in Logan’s face in a second, staring him down and baring his fangs. “I’m Virgil and the leader of this group you’re up against? Is a royal pain.” Patton gasped. “Wait, Dracula?”
Virgil rolled his eyes. “Ugh, I wish. His name is Roman, he calls himself the ‘Prince’ of vampires... and he’s slowly planning on turning this entire city into his personal army.”
Extra bits of information I came up with
Virgil has a personal vendetta against Roman.
Roman helped him home late one night
They grew close, eventually started dating
Roman didn’t hide who he was to Virgil
Though he did manipulate him a bit into wanting to become a vampire
“This will never be forever. One way or another, you will leave me...”
After being turned, he realizes just how much he was used
Breaks away from them, promising Roman that he was going to stop him
Roman just wants to build his ‘kingdom’ for him to rule
sees humans as weaker, is trying to ‘help them’
Most people follow him blindly and without question
he has a certain charm that just makes him a great leader
Virgil hates it because he still falls for it sometimes
It’s been like a decade since Virgil turned and is over Roman
Roman does try approaching Logan and Patton to explain himself
Says Virgil turned on him once he regretted asking to become a vampire
Had nothing to do with him and he’s just taking it out on Roman
all lies, though Logan and Patton start to question what’s going on
They trust Virgil more than Roman, though, and keep to his side
Virgil helps train them on how to take down a vampire
moves in with them and helps them out any way he can
He drinks a weird concoction he keeps working on to keep his hunger down. It’s a mix of animal blood and everything that should weaken vampires
Garlic, holy water, anything he can think of, but none of it works really
Roman knows that he won’t last forever and all he has to do is break Virgil to get him back on his side
and if that means going after a certain nerd Virgil is starting to grow a soft spot for, well, so be it
