"Addy? I'm back!" His arms are spread wide to beckon his little sister in the tightest hug. But she's nowhere. He could've sworn he'd entered the correct studio — There is a sniffle, and a mop of dark hair peeking from the piano. Next thing, he's looking at the tiniest ballerina he's ever seen. Probably the prettiest too. Dressed in a light pink leotard with a curious scar etched on the skin of her thigh. "You must be Tyler." She smiles at him, red-eyes and all. "I wish to take your hand in marriage."
"Pardon?"
"Do you wish me to speak of it so the heavens may hear my plea?" He cups his hands around his mouth, preparing to make good on his promise when Kate stops him.
"No, sire. I-I have heard you adequately." Tyler waits for her to continue, his earnest eyes meeting hers. "But I don't believe I should accept your proposal."
"Whyever not?"
"You are betrothed to my sister--"
"Yet you are the one I wish to have." His words stun her for a moment, his passion moving her heart.
"It is not so simple as to break one promise--"
He shuffles towards her, "You are a Princess, as is your sister. It is the same thing."
"You were not promised to me, Your Highness."
"It matters not."
"It matters to me."
Tyler frowns, his hands around her loose. "I thought we shared a mutual understanding of one another? Why do you resist me? Us?"
"We have a duty, you and I. As servants of the Crown to uphold dignity and respect. If we were to break what was promised between our fathers, it will cause chaos--"
"I do not care for such things. I do not care for the Crown. I need only you."
