Bad News Babes is a server for fictives who are villains, antagonists, people with seriously grey morals, etc. We also accept people in systems who have kintypes that fit the bill. It’s a safe place, with roles for adults and minors, opt in channels, and channels/roles for individual canons.

my system and fictives

ive found a cycle with my system, specifically when large influx of headmates (namely fictives) occur.

so what i find that happens to me is that first there has to be a period of time where im not okay. it might be me freaking out about trauma or me heavily disscoatiing (like i have been recently) or mental breakdowns or something else entirely. either way i have to be in a bad state of mind

so whenever i feel bad, i retreat. i shy away from everyone around me. hide in my room play videogames go on tumblr, write, embroider - whatever will make me feel better at the moment. now i dont usually watch shows or animes. it causes me too much stress. but once ive run out of things to do it becomes my only option. so at some point or another, whether its out of having nothing else to do or out of some extremely impulsive decision made by someone (cough cough mason cough cough) we are probably gonna end up watching something.

then we become completely invested. it practically devours our entire being. its like in our lowest moment, when we have absolutely nothing and we need something, we latch onto the nearest piece of fiction. we apply it to ourselves and we obsess over it and we theorize over it and it goes on and on. and then thats when the fictives come.

we have then at that point attached ourselves to this so much, usually at a point where we’re heavily dissociated, that it practically imprints on us. the characters that resonated the most will form within our system. first it’ll only be like one or two. but as we delve deeper and deeper into whatever hell that piece of fiction is, the need for them to have their canonmates and our obsession with the rest of the characters increases. then all of the characters just come fucking cascading into our system.

and its not like they just exist like our favorite characters or something. they actually take up roles in the system. since our system has so many members no one really holds any permanent role. the only two people that have kept their roles consistently have been the host and the trauma alter. what happens for everyone else is that as different people cycle in and out of being main fronters, the roles are passed on to the new main fronters as the old ones front less and less, and therefore cannot keep up with their role. its almost as if they hand over the title. thats why a lot of the title holders in the system right now are matsuno brothers; they are the main fronters of the moment so they do the jobs that other have done before them. its also why we get a lot of fictives of the same general archetype, since they can easily pass on their role from one to another.

but yeah thats kinda how it happens in my system. this si why we have so many system members and so many fictives. every once in a while our system decides it needs a refresh in the main fronters/it clings to the nearest piece of fiction so this happens. so what im trying to say is ive been dissociating heavily recently and im watching a new anime lmao.

anyways, does anyone have any thoughts or comments? can anyone else relate?
