Blumenkrew 29? >:3c
(happy version of this, but if you want sads @ me)
“I thought you were dead.”
The cart jolts over another rut in the road, and Astridswears, one hand flung out to grasp onto the side of the wagon as she nearlyfalls over the edge.
The three of them – he hasn’t met Astrid and Eodwulf, beforethis. He’s seen them around, certainly, but here, in this cart, is the firsttime he’s really getting to know them.
Or – attempting to, at least.
Eodwulf scowls, and takes a swipe at Astrid that she easilydodges.
“Do you always sleep like that? I tried to wake you up sixtimes!”
It’s been six hours of riding in this cart.
They’re stopping, soon, for the night, in some town he doesn’tknow the name of in between Blumenthal and Rexxentrum.
He’s very excited.
Less excited about the prospect of spending the next fewyears with these –
These.
“Excuse me for being tired, Miss I once fell asleep underthe table at New Dawn –“
Another thing.
Astrid and Eodwulf, apparently, already know each other, andare best friends.
He’s the quiet one out, here.
“You don’t get to bring that up like it’s an accusation, Misterfell asleep while eating, multiple times –“
He’s very confused, to be honest.
The cart hits yet another rut in the road – they really needto get someone out here to fix that, he thinks idly, before his hands aredarting out and grabbing the back of both Eodwulf and Astrid’s jackets as theyboth nearly bounce out of the back.
He manages, just barely, to haul them back in, and the allscramble away from the edge, breathing heavily.
Astrid glances at him, and then at Eodwulf, and then back athim.
She grins, bright and crooked.
Sticks out her hand.
“You’re the Ermendrud’s boy, right? I’m Astrid, but I’m sureyou’ve figured that out already. What’s your favorite color?”
His –
Eodwulf nudges Astrid aside, and sticks his hand out aswell. “And I’m Eodwulf, we met at Harvest’s Close, once, but I think you were outof it so you might not remember – I live above the butcher’s shop.”
He blinks, and then shakes both of their hands, one with hisright and one awkwardly with his left.
“I’m Bren,” he says, and the sun behind the cart spreadsgolden rays across their faces.
(Inspired, in no small part, by that art galo ( @experienceplace ) did of thetrio on the wagon to Soltryce.)
